Phnom Penh Wow Rachel and Tom - what a very moving piece of writing! This place obviously affected you a great deal. Reading your piece really makes you think. I too didn't know much about this and it happened in my life time, I don't remember much about this at the time. Take care of yourselves. Lots of love Mum x
Killing fields No laughter today Darling, only tears on reading your very moving account of mans terrible ability to inflict a level of cruelty that is unimaginable. Love Mumxx
A fascinating and very moving account - I still, many years later, remember the profound impact the film "The Killing Fields" had on me when I saw it. Everyone filed out of the cinema in Theatr Clwyd in total silence, so I can only imagine what it's like to actually be there.

Temples and blood Very interesting blog but the blood donation made me think. What a good idea to do this in such a poor country. Much better than giving cash. Good for you!. Much love from all in Hastings. xxxxxxxxxxxx
Temples This sounds great - I know you enjoyed it last time and after my initial horror that you had given blood in a foreign country, It sounded like a very good thing to do- as you say we have so much in the West whilst they are struggling in parts over there. - very proud of you both xx
crying seems like you all have been well in the swing of things tom . pleased to hear rachel got plenty of fussing after her bad landings as you will know she doesnt cry lightly . she must have hurt herself
love from us bothxxx
I enjoyed your post. I have always wanted to travel around the world. My blog is looking for travel photos. If you have the time, email us some at dirtyhippiesblog@gmail.com or check us out at dirty-hippies.blogspot.com
Continued fun on your travels,
Eric
Poor Rachel..... It all sounds a real 'mare. I don't think I'd ever have been up to that sort of thing, but the scenery does look lovely.
Have you heard that all airspace over the Uk and elsewhere in Europe is closed at the moment because of a volcano in Iceland? What with that and the election it's all kicking off here. As it is in China, too, come to that. Hope you weren't affected by the earthquake.
Take care, and much love,
Margaret

Very scary activities in the river Hallo again. We have been off line for a couple of weeks as our computer decided to break down and we have just had an expensive visit from the computer doctor. Great to catch up with your travels. The river tubing sounded great fun, if a bit hair raising. The exciting news in Hastings is that Martin and Claire have had their twins and we are now the proud grandparents of Isabel and Harry. This makes your Mum a Great Aunt. How old will that make her feel! Keep blogging and having a great time. Much love. Auntie Sue and all in Hastings. xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Bangkok This place sounds rather too noisy for me - I expect you were glad to move on although the train sounded quite an experience. Its a pity you're so tall Tom, I expect Rachel fits the bunks and seats better. Keep bolgging, we all very much enjoy reading your adventures xx Mum
Awesome!! We are so impressed, not only by the quality of your writing but by the fact that you have the energy to do it at all after all these adventures! Glad your faith in human nature and that all will come right in the end isn't letting you down! It all sounds amazing and we love reading about it...makes plans for Turkey in Sept with Gill and Alan feel just a little tame in comparison........
Love to you both - go on having a great time.

Wearable Komodo's! i loved this blog. Poor Mr Harrison if the tapping could unleash such a frenzy imagine what an IPOD with too much Bass could do! Good job your's went walkabout! I happened to mention to Grandma that you'd bought me a Kimono she thought I said Komodo - I have visions of wearing one draped around my neck snapping at everyone invading my space............. I think I'm ready for a holiday............ 2 more days then off to Antigua! Take care both Love Mumxxx
Magical Monkeys Well I'm in the middle of a truly awful day at work, the day's grey and wet when into my inbox pings a little bit of south east Asian sunshine! As always your blog has put a smile on my face darling! What is that monkey whispering to Tom? Your day out at the Padangtegal Mandala Wistata Wanara Wana Sacred Monkey Forest Santuary (Check out photo 16 - Glad I'm not in the office answering the phone there!!) looked like great fun! Hope Rachel is now fully recovered from her illness and is able to enjoy more of your holiday. Aimee and I have just been looking at the pictures of the Orangutangs . She is now planning her Gap year so she can see them too. Lots of love Auntie Sue and Aimee. XXXXXXXXXXX
Having been on an 'extreme' walk - in the Canaries of all places and narrowly escaping being flown out by helicopter, I can only read in abject horror and admiration this part of your journey! What I do love though is your choice of language and expression in all your writings - makes for very entertaining reading.
LOL I've laughed so much at the last 2 entries, I've had tears streaming down my face. I can just picture the scene with Lucy and the Chinese couple. The Gillis do look like paradise;how are you ever going to get rid of the itchy feet when this adventure is over! Lovely seeing you today. Take care both. PS don't tell me any more stories involving Motor Bikes and rucksacks until your safely home! Mumxx
The Gilli Sounds a great place, rather an adventure to get there. How did Tom get on with all those women around! We are all getting very envious of the sun and heat weather here still very cold for middle of March, send us some of your sun xx
Volcano treck What an adventure. Dont think I would have lasted more than the first half hour. Oh to be young and fit. Keep blogging Much love Auntie Sue XXXXXXXX
