hazel and jethro -- going places, doing things

Just a couple of fun loving adventurous South Africans (well, one more adventurous than the other, and both with completely different ideas of what consitutes "fun") who set out to see the world (in a way that didn't involve joining the army).

I started this blog so we could have a record of all the places we've been and I hope you will share our experiences with us, as Jethro drags me kicking and screaming down a leech infested forest path in Malaysia, only to face payback as I make him get up close and personal with an elephant he doesn't trust in India.

The clouds are thick and grey, and hang low on the horizon, and the sun is nowhere to be seen. I turn my head against the biting wind and wrap my jacket more tightly around me to ward off the chill. My hands are tucked safely into my ski gloves, but i can still feel my fingers tingling from the cold. I shiver, and pull my hat down further over my ears and turn to look around me.
