helloa Hello to you both!
Sorry - I've been completely rubbish and never once so far in 17months said hello. So hello! I've evenutally gotten around to reading your blog and it sounds wonderful out there. I love all the animals esp the pig - I want one now!!! Slightly impractical however as I'm due to drop (a baby hopefully!) tomorrow! Though in usual project management stylie tis already over budget, the quality is in real doubt with Chris the father and at this rate it doesn't look like it's going to be to time. Anyhow - hope I've filled this in right and you get this message. Take care and really good to read up on your latest exploits. Say hello to CJ from me.

Good service? You are quite right.. the point we were trying to make is that Dubai seems to have lost the edge in customer service which it once had (and was second to none) and has become greedy and forgets that at the end of the day, it is the customer who uses this service time after time purely based on previous good service.. if the aircraft would have been full, we would have accepted it more but as it was nearly empty it was a little harder to swallow.. even more so when the flight was delayed on the runway due to the loading of 'late cargo' !
We have travelled the world and flown with Emirates many, many times, but as we were not 'holidaying' this time but were emigrating, a little amount of understanding would have been nice.. England as we all know, is one of the most bureaucratic, policy bound places but they did provide a higher level of customer service and the 'human touch' on the outbound flight. Everybody chances their arm from time to time and we accept that we were over our baggage limit, but it was the blase attitude of those involved which showed the true deteriation of their service values.
good service? I have been travelling around the world with most major AIRLINES WITH MY SCUBADIVING GEARS AND PhOTO EQUIPMENTs, believe me you got a good deal from emirate, qantas won't give a damn at all , you will pay 78kg .the other better airline is SQ ,but you have to be gold member to be treated well with over 50kg per person.
Our shift to the other side of the world.....
Flying out on February 17th 2008 to start a whole new life in sunny Perth - with a nice holiday in Dubai for a week first ;-)
Will keep all our friends and family up to date with what we are doing, houses we have looked at to rent and buy and eventually settle down.. and will also give us a chance to let all our collegues see what they could be enjoying!
Even more important, this will help us keep in touch with the kids, Carli, Thomas & Poppie who are staying back in the UK, they can even vote on the houses we are looking at buying so that they ... full info
