Best cheese bread
Latif is known for their cheese bread and zatar bread - staples for expats, especially the kids. I always pick it up the day our kids are arriving for the holidays (any many other times also).

Dammam
Hi, you should have gone to Dammam Corniche and the Perfume District. Dammam is a very large City, one day is not enough. The most exciting day to visit Dammam is Friday when it's filled with South Asians. You'll think that you're lost in New Delhi.

Men's Room sign

So what does the women's room sign look like?
Or are women not allowed to use public restrooms? Or are you not allowed to take photos of even the signs? :)

I bought a REAL Genie Lamp!

Genie Lamps
Hello Zoya. Yes, of course the genie lamp is real. The tricky part is declaring the genie at customs at the border, since the genie does not come with a passport. However, I was able to use up one of my three wishes and get the genie into the country. Please note that you have to pay extra when you buy the lamp to get one with a real genie. Good luck and good travels!

Folding the Cheese Bread

Cheese Bread
Thank you for taking the time to read my travel blog. I just saw your comment about eating cheese bread. The best cheese bread I found was in Al-Khobar in the Eastern Province. The restaurant is called Latif Pastry and it has wonderful cheese bread. My favorite was the Zatar Cheese for only 3 SR. Please click on the link below to see my blog entry about Latif: http://www.travelblog.org/Middle-East/Saudi-Arabia/Khobar/blog-395191.html The cheese bread in the blog entry that you noticed was a place within the Saudi Aramco compound. The dough is very similar to pizza dough. I'm not sure what kind of cheese it was, but it was similar to chedar cheese.

Past Blast!
Whoa! I lived in Abqaiq from 1978-80. Most of these pics could have been taken back then! Hofuf and the caves have not changed much in 32 years! What fond memories of the people and land. Thank you for sharing.
