Sad That there will be no more stories of your trip--they were always a treat and a joy to read. A real bummer about having your precious gift stolen, however you, Mark and Malaya travelled into locations safely and that's what is important. To be treated with such disrespect by our neighbours to the south is cause to get the letter-writing skills sharpened. Good Luck. My friend married a retired Dade Country police officer and he had a home in Miramar. His daugher-in-law is Latin American and only spoke Spanish in the home. Raising the children in Spanish as well. My friend said Florida was not as nice a place as it used to be - there were so many Spanish speaking people who were taking over the state. They moved away - to North Carolina.
Travel the world, good and not-so-good no matter where we go, but once home, really home, we are sooooooo lucky to live in such a wonderful country. Welcome home -
Oh, too soon to ask where your next adventure will take you??? Thank you, Andrea. xoxoxo
been there done that Yes we have done that before-I am proud to say it happened to Bob and he cleaned it all up himelf as I was somewhere I forget where. Also have done the flu for days and gone thru a dozen blankets. Children have their totally disgusting moments. Owning a goat would be easier some days. Welcome home to "civilization". Take care.
Hope Malaya is feeling better Hope that Malaya is feeling much better. Sounds like you had a rough time with the clean up duty. What are your flight details from Salta to Buenos Aires? My lips are sealed abt Survivor. Enjoy the rest of your vacation in Argentina.
Duh moi Was just sitting have a glass of vino contemplating what's on the menu here tonight.........then I blindly open your travel story...........thanks Andrea - think it'll be dry crackers for me...........Elwood can order in for himself!! :)))) Do feel for Malaya, poor kid. Think you had your own 'Survivor' show!! Sad when holidays come to an end, but you really did make good use of your time and saw LOTS. Enjoy the rest of your time and hope your trip home, albeit it long, goes smoothly. Thanks a million for allowing me to join your vacation...........xoxo
Great adventure Sounds kind of looney with the long sleeved shirts. There is a reason though, keeps the sun off the skin avoiding sunburn. Sun can still get through fabric... Car ride sounds scary. French hitchhiker, he must have thought it odd to meet french speaking tourist from Canada on a lonely road in Argentina. I'm sure it will make a memorable journey. Looking forward to your next blog. Adios mi familia.
i never told you about the trouble we had getting the car today.
the guy at the rental agency this morning was in a very very bad mood. he was giving mark attitude and throwing papers around. mark forgot his passport so he had to walk back to the dump we slept at, then walk back to the rental agency.
the car is new but it screaches loudly when you start it. i thought the air conditioning was broken for hours until mark figured it out finally.
the car seat is....okay. it is not in as snug as it should be, the straps are twisted and there is no clip across the chest. I have to say we are better than the locals who put kids in the back on their laps or next to them with not even so much as a seat belt on.
Wonderful Andrea - this is a wonderful travelogue..........Love the dinner story - but hey, wine and cheese AND chocolate - now THAT'S worth a visit..............
Holiday Memories Some you win, some you lose. Girl, you really know how to do up a holiday that is far from boring. You sound so calm and rational--I'd be a raving lunatic .............. and you are about to rent a car - now THAT I have to see.........just tell us how many miles it has on it - keeping in mind the odometers turn over after a million miles!! :))))))) Kiddin'......... Thanks Andrea for sending this running commentary on your vacation. I'm loving it!!
Holy Guacamole Holy Guacamole. Maybe those mini towels may not have been a bad idea afterall. I say if it doesn't seem right, get out of Dodge. It may only be a seedy downtown.
Chocolate Bless that young man and his chocolate. Must try that myself the next time I'm in the Mall........:)) Andrea, sounds like you are seeing lots of the countryside and certainly getting 'off the beaten track' is great. So good to see Mark standing on two feet, up and about. What a wonderful way this is to be with you as you travel the world.........xoxoxo
vacation hey, have fun take lots of pics. hope all are over flu symptoms. all kids schedules get out of wack, short trips, or long. she'll just get used to travel time and then change again going home.
vacation hey glad to hear, mark's on the mend. travel whether to yer ma's house or anywhere always changes kids sleeping habits. I'm shocked to read that, when on the one bus, because you didn't have change, coins they put you off bus with a child???? Hopefully, your all well. and can enjoy your vacation now. snow. we had few here. but last few days really nice, not even needing coat. Also just to let ya know if you read your blog, its interesting to see at very bottom, mention of places to stay, apartments, even something about tylenol(you said you gave to Malaya), someone's picking up info and advertising !!! see for yourself take care have fun ruth
Driver move that bus It looks like a very nice time share, I think it will be a nice break. The hard part will be figuring where you are going to go for the rest of your vacation. Don't forget to take lots of pictures of Malaya with the local landmarks. Just like Disney World. Even though she is too young to remember the trip, she will get a kick out of hearing about it when she is older. I'm not sure if my posts have been appearing. This is my 3rd.
Love, MOM
Snow The snow is still here btw. And too bad you got lost i hope you have some sort of emergency contact system between you and Mark that woudl have sucked big time for him to wake up without you two. I am happpy to hear mayala holding up well and the food dish sounds yummy. so when do we get to see some pictures? What are the locals like there? the house is fine. Did you want me to turn you thermostates up a bit? Let me know. Cheers from Canada,
Xav

Your time share should be luxurious.........enjoy!! xo
what a trooper Hey Team Condron,
Glad to see that you are still able to take in some sights, despited Mark getting the flu. That really sucks. I remember getting sick in the Dominican republic and I believe you about it not being fun.
Give Mark my best to get better quickly.
Nothing to worry about over here. Luckily, you misses the first snowfall yesterday. Although it has all disappeared already.
Keep up with the updates.
Nikki
Hi there Andrea - are you SURE you're on vacation??? Chevy Chase's movies pale in comparison!! :))) Please get Mark to a clinic/doctor/hospital.........poor guy, some holiday he's having. Mind you, he'll be building immunities which will see him through the rest of his life!! :))) Many thanks for this Andrea - fingers crossed that Malaya and you keep well, and that Mark recovers in time to at LEAST have a beer...........xoxoxo

Hola Hi Andrea, it sounded like a bit of a trying time with the flight. I don't know if I would have had the guts to get on the plane after it didn't start.
Since Malaya has had a cold, I think the cold meds would be helpful on the flight back. She is too young to chew gum, and she can only drink so much milk during the flight to avoid any ear pain. It is possible that Mark could have the flu. I do. I've had a fever ranging from 101 to 103. I missed 3 days of work. I'm still coughing, though it is starting to wind down. You may have to take it slow and easy getting yourselves accustomed to the changes and all the travelling.
Funny how you mentioned abt the grocery store. I watched a program called Don't Tell My Mom...the guy travelled to Venezuela and they basically had no milk, or it was powered and from Chernobil (sp).
The punctuation I wouldn't worry about. I did locate info on your flight earlier today. I'll wish a happy birthday to Ruth and Elizabeth from you.
Don't forget to pace yourself. If you have time, please post any flight details within S. America if you get a chance. I couldn't locate the flight for your timeshare.
LOVE MOM.
How was your flight? Hi Andrea, Mark and Malaya. How was your flight? Did you find anything interesting to do with your layovers? I spotted that your flight was a bit late getting in.
lol You guys are going to have a great time. So very excited for you all. Glad you decided to take her with you. We will have to do the big phone chat when you get home...so much to tell you. Have an awesome time
