Amazing Purdy is a good word and I think you have seen some very Purdy things on your journey. I love ready your blogs. Be safe, I know that is getting old too but continue o have a great time.
Wait until you see me in the flesh. Out of control hair and beard. The crazier the better. Though some family predict I won't be allowed back in the US. I've got other friends accusing me of trying to be Grizzly Adams. I loved that show when I was kid and I DID want to be Grizzly Adams. Who didn't want a Grizzly bear as a friend/protector?
Idaho is beautiful In January 2011, we (me, Kristy, Alex, Dan and Norene) left our initial hotel in Jackson for our road trip into Yellowstone. We didn't plan the easy route to the south entrance. We planned to drive through Idaho and Montana to the north entrance. Idaho's rolling hills were an unexpected beauty to behold. We crossed the continental divide into Montana for our bed and breakfast in Bozeman. We have no guilt about avoiding camping. Bozeman has a much better nightlife than I expected so you can find it there if you are in the mood for that. From Bozeman we dodged deer southbound on the way to Gardiner, Montana and on to the majestic Mammoth Springs Hotel. We knew the roads would be closed in Yellowstone because we planned a 150 mile snowmobile trip over the roads that we knew would be unpaved for the winter season. It was awesome!
I am so proud of you You might have spent a night in a motel but what you have accomplished so far is amazing. Thanks for all the great pictures. Have a great day today.
I would have, but at this point that stuff needs to biodegradable and I'm not sure what it was made of. I do not want to have a Alaska brown bear ask me what I was thinking using that stuff :)
Spam for days!! My recommendation is spam sandwiches with a little bit of mustard and ketchup. Then you can close your eyes and think it is a burger. Also, I have a friend who swears by spam and eggs...
Loved reading about your trip! Sounds like a great adventure with lots of possibilities (hotels and all). Stay safe and keep writing, I look forward to reading more. :)
It's okay There have been many times in my own travels (Too many to mention and not quite so lofty as I would make them out to be) where I tried to follow a plan and blew it! Don't beat yourself up. In a lot of those missing agendas, I was able to experience much more than "the plan" could offer. Good luck and just do "the non-plan, plan!" Ben Stiller again! :)
I only saw this now. I might have taken you up on the contact info with where I ended up spending the night! :) The funny thing is that I've been almost constant contact via phone and text while data access has been very much limited.

Um, bear bell?
You wear the thing? The bear doesn't need to smell you, he'll hear you! Yikes!
