The next stop on my whirlwind tour of Europe (I use the term Europe very loosely, more like two cities of) was Paris to visit my old housemate Louise. When Louise used to live with me, she always spoke of Paris very fondly, yet was forever mentioning how rude and uptight the locals could be. Although I did not really experience very much rudeness in my time there, one thing that became apparent very quickly is that time is money. The amount of times that I saw people sprinting down the steps of the metro or lunging themselves through the closing doors of the trains was just ridiculous, made even more so by the fact that the trains left every two minutes!
