I moved to Tas with my husband and 3 kids in August 2009 and after living with the in-laws for 3 months we finally found some rental accomodation at Midway Point. We are expecting our 4th baby in May 2010 and are still settling in and waiting for final visas and other important documents to allow us to build a life. My hubby is originally from tasmania and visited UK 9 years ago where he stayed and met me in Godalming, Surrey (SE England).
We decided to move to Oz for a chance of A better life for us but more importantly for the children. Whether we stay in Tas or not is yet to be seen, as much as I love Tas, it is not quite the climate I had in mind when deciding to make the move. It is a beautiful state but I like things a bit warmer!
My blog is set up so my family and friends can catch up on how we are doing at their own leisure without having to find yet another email full of pictures that take up space and take too long to download. Having said that, I would feel a sense of achievement if my blogs inspire others to visit Tasmania, as I said before it is a beautilful state, very much under-rated and more or less untouched. I still have the rest of Australia to visit but Tasmania has more than impressed. With its dramatic coastlines, World heritage sites, National Parks, Wilderness, Empty White Sandy Beaches and general nothingness for miles and miles it is well worth a visit!
