“A wonderful experience, plenty of pampering at Garnish House, charming surroundings, amazing breakfast you won't forget.”
We found this amazing Garnish House B&B on the Western Road very near the centre of Cork city. We arrived just to ask the price of a one-night stay but received a wonderful greeting at the door and was invited in for complimentary afternoon tea by Johanna Lucey. She brought us into the very comfortable dinning room and very soon a tray of homemade scones with cream and jam, fresh cakes and pastries and home baked bread with a pot of tea and coffee arrived. Everything was just so tasty and really enjoyable, and we were somewhat shocked by the wonderful greeting and personal attention we received. She discounted her price and we stayed in a gorgeous room separate from the main house. It had beautiful décor, and you would want to sleep forever on the deep luxurious mattress on the bed and the fluffy comforters, kettle etc there to make tea/coffee and TV, also fresh fruit and flowers. But breakfast was definitely something special and amazing with over 30 choices and Johanna encouraged us to try the pancakes, the trout and what about that for a fantastic Irish Breakfast, and then so many choices etc. We started with freshly cooked oat porridge smothered in Baileys cream and it was scrumptious. We tried a wide selection of berries and nuts with Greek yoghurt and an abundance also of different juices, fresh fruit, cereals, cheese, breads and so on. When leaving Johanna brought us foil wrapped pancakes to take away on our journeys. We have been back a couple of times to stay and treated so well and the food is always amazing. Visit Cork and stay at Garnish house and you’ll never be disappointed. Johanna and her staff are wonderful ambassadors for Ireland. The customer is definitely KING at Garnish House. We say “Long may this recession continue in Ireland if we can get treated like this”. .

Totally Agree
I have just been to stay in the Garnish House and I have to totally agree with everything that has been said about this wonderful place, a real gem. How lucky was I to find it on the internet, it is definately 'THE' place to stay in Cork. Travel would be even better if you found places like this everywhere you went, there are a few places out there that could learn a thing or two from the Garnish House. I cannot wait to visit again.

The best B&B in Ireland
We have been visiting Garnish House since 1997 (about 12 visits in all) and never tire of the place. We would recommend it to anybody. Garnish house is definitely part of the Cork experience. The hospitality, superb and plentiful food and the comfort is second to none. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Cork there is only one choice, Garnish House. If you want somewhere to stay in Ireland it is worth going out of your way and going to Cork. God bless them all.

Spirit Calling
~ The Calling ~ I cried to the wind blowing past me today My Spirit swept by like a stranger, but looking Told a story and touched the earth Calling dead leaves and memories to the ground ~ Crisp, crackling and dancing across the stones Gathered in place to mark a garden It’s bringing me home I can hear the wind say Whistling between rocks that hold no green ~ I stand and wait for the sound of your feet The purpose that echoes in your stride Hearing my name from the calling of a distance Laughter welling up with my leaping to the gate ~ Running to the sound of my name in your whisper Calling me further to the source and away I thought it was me I heard among the leaves That spun and danced around my dreams ~ Tears welled up in my heart and eyes Clouding my vision and honing my sight To see that I wait for a dream that’s not ours But the calling is to me, by a chariot of wind ~ The footsteps I heard were my own, in a vision Their echoes, my calling and departure I held us here that kept you away Hearing but not listening who called ~ I thought it was me among my fears and hope In a dormant and untended garden But the love is real and the tears rejoicing Lifting to the sky, smiling goodbye and good journey ~ I reached to the wind blowing past me today My Spirit stood by like a friend, in waiting Tells a story and touches the sky Calling my soul in mind to waking April 1, 2009 John Pratt Booker

Very Spiritual
My wife and I were in Ireland in 2003. When we were in Dublin at the Brazen Head pub, a local named John told us about Glendalough, describing it as a spiritual experience, he was absolutely right. Make it part of your itinerary and you will not be disappointed.

Blood Sausage
I did not enjoy the blood saugage. eeewwwwww!!! It felt pretty grotesque on my tongue, and had the consistency of a blood clot!! However, we met a very nice man on the bus in Scotland. (Remember him girls'? Wasnt Doogie his name? The man with the dyed pink hair?). Anyhow, he was a chef by trade, in Belfast. He told me that Blood Sausage is like any other culinary delight, or culinary fright for that matter. The taste and quality depends on the chef, he told me. Of course this must be true!! The love and intent put into it must make all the difference in Quality. Perhaps John--you had a blood sausage that was blessed. I have already set my intent to try it again someday. When I find a Chef like Doogie. Love you Guys!!

God and Ground Level Accommodations
Dear John, I to pray for ground level quarters, but God or Europe doesn't like me and refuses to play well with others, at least me. I need to finally learn to levitate. And yes, I would have loved you my friend as a personal valet - what fun we would have had ! And, referencing blood sausage, we had it in Ireland and it was awful. It was an odd rather bland taste and the texture a bit granular and neither Becky or I and I don't believe Terrie cared for it either, did you girl? Perhaps it is different in this region of France and perhaps we missed a gastronomical delight... We have come to realize that our journey does not stop even when we get back but continues at least until Winter Solstice/Natal/Christmas before our journey and work pauses to take a breath. We also are trying to get the blog caught up by entering our journals as we did them at the time, but they are still so relevent to us they do not feel "old". We are still quite deeply embedded and grappling with all that is and has happened to us. John, thanks for your continued support. It is so nice to receive them. Here's a big energetic hug for your achy breaky heart. Hope to give you a real one soon. Love Lettie P.S. Becky is blowing you kisses - falling like gentle rain on your beautiful bald head. :-)

Welcome!
Walter, You are welcome to join in vicariously any time, but since you have come out of the drywall closet, please remind me of when we met and where. I rarely forget a drywall connection and would love to remember if I can. Regardless, I am glad to hear from you and that we are connected thorugh my buddy Craig whom I love to pieces. Besides, you might as well join in and become part of our spiritual seeking family. We love heart connections. We are hopeful of becoming more of service to life and Spirit by expanding ourselves through this journey. I am being tested right now and hope I am not left wanting. Your message is a timely gift for I am tired and struggling and it cheered me as well as got me out of myself for a bit to think about you. Thanks for that. I hope that your life is being blessed in every way. Journey on! Lettie

Wishing You Ground Level Accommodation......
...... Godspeed to physical restoration....... and transportation from door to door - with full gain of guided purpose. What a lovely town. My heart goes out to you My Dearest Teacher and I miss you both almost achingly for some reason. I wish I could have been your 'Personal Valet, shared your travel physically - and quite simply carried your bags. You had blood sausage, I believe - which I really enjoyed when I stayed in the Opera district (a 'non-tourist-ish' Greek segment of France near the Latin Quarter) Becky - you should have eaten those meaty red morsels - they are scrumptious. I love you both - am on edge anticipating your return..... and seeing you both after your likely 'rest and recuperation’ sabbatical following your return to the states. I Imagine French Fries won't be on the menu for at least a while... LOL Always Yours, John Pratt Booker

Thanksgiving
Blessings John, We enjoyed your words of heart felt gratitude. They remind us that we are, after all, not so far apart and that our hearts are always connected. You would enjoy the beauty of the countryside here and the openess and kindness of the people here. Also, like you, they know how to have a good time but no one has your sense of humor. Stay Well, Love, the Girls

Thanksgiving
~ A Letter of Thanks Giving ~ Your journey has reminded me to trust Spirit in the most immediate ~ To walk the in the intricate present as divine adventure and gifts unfold. I think of you laughing and being who you are… . which brings so much joy to me ~ often, and for some reason on so many recent days. I’m happy too… so you know. We can’t always place ourselves in the company of our dearest – when distance and purpose separates us for a time. Walking with you here as we’ve been privileged to do ~ sharing poignant and divine moments ~ to not miss you sorrowfully but to be with you as You unfold…. is Joyful. Thank You. It’s a time to give Thanks ~ And so easily given it is, the heartfelt thanks for each of you having blessed our lives so richly. With Kindest Affection and Love to each of you, Ms. Lettie, Becky, k & Terrie ~ And to all of our loved ones. Always, John Pratt Booker

Places you have seen.
Becky, WOW what a trip you are having. Places and experiences you are having together. I was in Mexico for 5 days at the Baja 1000. I look forward to you coming back, I have not been back to Teds since we were there. Do your friends know you eat junk food? Thanks for keeping me posted on your trip. Hope to see you, if you are led to return. L Frank.

Hi Sis
Sounds like all is going great for you. We are serving as guided along the way but this trip is really, for me, about getting to the stuff hidden away from sight. It is working, I must say. This is the work I must do before my true essence can reign. The horse therapy sounds truely wonderful. I support the work you are doing in bringing this to fruition. Love to all, B

The preceeding Vision
How could I have forgotten! I had a "vision" before arriving to Carragh Conway. The image in my vision looked like an encirled place in the sky with a path below it, going up. The photograph above, entitled "Private Drive to Mount Conway", matched the image in my minds-eye, precisely! I felt astonished when I saw in the physical realm, what my intuitive vision had already perceived. This expereience deepened my trust in Spirit, and my Self.

Hi Becky
Hey Sis, Beautiful place! Let me know how your spiritual work is going. Mine is going great, we are adopting Lenny, he put in his papers to go on a mission, we are contemplating adopting Cyarrin and he was baptised last month. There are no accidents that I met Karen as I was filling out paperwork at Torie's counseling. She mentioned to the receptionist that she had been to Impact so when she started to leave I stopped her and let her know I had been through Impact also. She has connections to get our therapuetic horse riding program off the ground! yea! We are blessed and I honor you for the work you are doing. I love you. Holly

Mystic Travellers
Hello Ms. Lettie, Becky, Terri and Kim~ It's wonderful to read, feel and sense so much about your journey. Terri - How lovely your crafted words to describe the Monestary and its period. I felt like I was standing right there. ... no windows.... I miss you all very much.... but that's wonderfully overridden by the excitement and purpose .... and just knowing what it must be like for Ireland to have you there .... as for you to be there. I love you all and my heart lifts with joy everytime I read or think of you. Not a day passes......
