The first night we were in Italy, a down pour of rain deluged the city. We didn't know that the restaurants close up between about 5pm until around 8pm. We were starving and set about walking up and down the streets to find a place to eat but everything was closed. The water level was rising to our midcalves in the streets so each time we made our way across intersections the drop from the curb took me into deep waters and filled my shoes with fish (not really but my mind was feeling pretty dramatic at this point). I was soaking wet, cold, hungry, and grumpy. We finally found a Chinese restaurant that was open. We stepped into the door looking like death and ordered Chinese food.
