It’s a shame I didn’t take more time to record more details of my first week in Beijing. Now whatever I write in a few brief paragraphs will sound like just a laundry list of task after task that I got done. The fact is, it was definitely one heavily-packed week of getting situated, getting to know the part of the city I’m in (and other parts as well), meeting some fellow teachers, experiencing some of the city’s nightlife, and getting ready to start teaching tomorrow. In the next few weeks, I hope to write a number of small anecdotes about individual highlights from this past week. This week certainly had much of the “ooh-ah” that comes with touring Beijing.
