Swing by the Siene I'm so glad you did that! I was meaning to mention that to you but you gals are so with it you don't need me :))
The pictures around La Creuse are just too beautiful!

hey did just remembered to check your blog .... wow looks great on the other side of the world ...hey ever considered posting some vids of you - not just dogs listening to music!! xx t
Cheese I am so jealous of the cheese eating. I completely understand Betto's love. It just isn't the same here, I even tried uttering a small 'ahh' when eating some 'Cracker Barrel Vintage' - a poor man's Wendy... I want fresh French cheese!! I am sure the sniffer dogs at the airport won't be able to smell it on your return hehe ;) Smelly French Cheese = heaven.
It's all in the details. Let's all pack up and move to Europe! Everything is a feast for the eyes. Your heads must be spinning by now. Who is that person above your right shoulder, Kate - one of the seasons, perhaps?
Phew! You really had us worried for a moment that Betty had absconded with your breakky! Love the videos. Please buy me that "les marsupiaux" book with the doggy bookends!!
Hi Lovely Ladies.... Hey Ladies....It's cousin Mel. Just thought i'd let you know that i have spent the last hour going over all your entries, and looking at all your photos. You certainly seem to be having a great time, seems like a life time ago that i was in France. Take care and look forward to hearing more xxx
Ahh Betto, such a way with words. Have you considered moonlighting as a freelance travel journalist? Thanks for the card, it took me right back to that time in Alice parent's bedroom ;) Did you both have a mock gladiator battle? I assume you are both out and about cycling through beautiful countryside now, can't wait to hear all about it, love to you both xo
Cou Cou! It's Maria here! I have finally caught up on your adventures (actually I lost the link to your blog and finally this morning I found it)! I've had such a charming morning reading about your travels/adventures and seeing all the lovely photographs. You inspired me to duck up to the local (allbeit Swiss) patisserie and get myself a chicken pie, florentine et une boite d'orangina for lunch in a fit of "I wish I were travelling through France". Much like yourselves I hope it never ends..lets all move to France! Clearly it needs to be repopulated with women who wear red lipstick :)) Big smoochy red bisous to you both! Maria
G-O-D you ate T-R-I-P-E!!!! I'm sure the French recipe was much more edible than my granny's - hers was kinda furry, beige and rubbery (and I suspect cut into neat squares with scissors), served in white sauce with parsley. The memory of it makes me cringe even now.
cars and babes Bonjour Monsieur Lamond, well I will endeavor to capture more images of the classic french 'Voiture' pour vous. As for the ladies, I have not yet seen one that has turned my head .... French mademoiselles are tres naturale and their style tres practical. As for Le Tour, no we are not following its course and it does not start until 14th July. However we did cycle over part of the 2005 route 2 days ago .. thats was exciting pour moi! x Kate
Salut,
thanks for the beautiful descriptions of Lyon and its food.
I admire your courage for eating tripes!
Normandie (where i come from) is also well-known for its tripe dishes but i've never been able to get used to it?
goddess more photos of french cars and/or women please...or combine even ...a la citroen goddess! !are you following the route of the tour? where will you end up to watch it? or is that not on the schedule?
An extremely funny thing!!! Dear Betty,
Your encounter with the gingham tablecloths is a worthy subject for an hilarious short film. I do hope Kate took a photo. Mmmm, our mouths are watering at your food and wine decriptions. No need to smuggle, one liter of wine each is permissable - but maybe not enough?
Mon dieu! Dearest Mother,
We are perplexed by your paragraphs of French speak ..... we have little time to spend on the computer and Betty's translatory skills are not at the speed of a UN translator. We love receiving your comments, but can they be in English from now on!? You are very clever! Thanks and I love you, x Kate
Comment civilisé ! Bonjour belles filles,
Hmmm Do French felines have a distinctively French miaow?
I imagine so... I am loving every minute spent reading your blog and viewing your pictures... Beautiful... xoxo
Fabulous descriptions.... ....I feel like I am part of the adventure, the photos are great as well, excellent eye for those small details that say 'this is another country'. Looking forward to more.......
All sounds so beautiful. We just forget how young and sterile Australia can be...
Going to France soon and will be looking at eveything with new eyes again. Old houses, gates, doors, tables, plates, glasses... Everything has a story...
And the food??? What do you think about the food??
xx
Bonne chance! Salut les filles,
Where are you now?
Nice? Lyon? Or are you right in the middle of your bike tour?
All sounds very exciting. Can't wait for your stories about the French countyside, the fresh baguettes and the numerous different cheeses that you MUST try! And the stories about communicating with the locals who are only interested in you tasting their best "saucissons"! lol
Your trip sounds perfect. Don't know if your eyes will be big enough to take it all in. So many old monuments! Lyon is a beautiful old city extremely pleasing to the eyes.
Visiting the Chateau de Versailles in style is cumpolsory. It is magnificent, you'll be blown away! Make sure you get there early in the morning to avoid the crowd. Please take pictures of you too frolicking in Louis XIV's bedroom!
Do the French really only talk about food and sex?
I guess you have one month to find out and give me the answer... I have to admit i think it might be true... i love my food... ;-)
Shame our dates won't coincide. I will be in France in August.
Did you say you were going through annecy?
Have a lot of fun!
I really look forward to your stories.
And remember the most important: make sure they always know you are from Australia and the French will love you. If they think you're English you are dead!
Bisous
A bientot
