Ireland Ireland stole our hearts when we were there. Love all the music and tales told in the small towns. Santa....maybe you should have told her yes.
Grand to see SlowFeet on the move Dave here......have been enjoying your blogs....knew that you would not be able to sit still for too long....the road always calls.......
Perfect Project Management What an outstanding story of friends following tradition. Life is too short to drink cheap champagne! Life on the river, stopping at the pubs, enjoying the music, friends and foods. Sounds like a perfect adventure.
On the road again We are really enjoying your trip. You done and seen a variety of things this time out. Glad you finally got things settled enough at home so you could take off again. Love all the music in Ireland.
Calmer heads prevail I'm glad a certain person does the reservations and ignored your "ban" from years ago. Glad you were able to make progress with chasing the family tree. Good work.
Yummy Morocco! Fabulous that you took cooking classes and also sampled the great Moroccan food--best wishes preparing it at home! Your tour had such a wonderful variety of activities. Other Aussie's have taken Intrepid Tours and also raved about them--they seem to attract pretty like-minded people. You brought back wonderful memories of that lovely country where I stayed for four months, speaking French in the south, Spanish in the north and picking up a tad of Arabic. I too, would love to return.
Bargain like a Berber While we were there the shop owners accused of bargaining like a Berber. We loved the food in Morocco. In all our travels it was some of the best we've had. They really know how to use spices in great combinations. We've learned to make a couple of Moroccan dishes sense we returned that make us happy. Thrilled to hear about your cooking class. When you come to Florida to visit we can cook for one another. WE grew to love the mint tea although they put too much sugar in it for our taste.
A quiet drop of wine from time to time Wine is a growing industry. Loved our time in Essaouaira....thanks for those memories.Loved all the seafood. Loved all the argon oils and brought a stash back with us. We would have loved the music festival today.
In love with Morocco We loved every minute of Morocco and your stories transported us back to haggling at the market. Excellent! The foods, the aromas, the people...ah and the jewelry. I believe we came home with a couple of pieces. You look happy.
Magic teapot? We've seen lots of 'big' things but this is the first 'big teapot'. Not that any place in Moroccoa would need to advertise they have mint tea, we would have thought.
Essaouira surprises How lucky that you were there for a music festival--love those traditional outfits. Congrats on finding wine--the riad rooftop party sounds perfect! I was unfortunately bone dry my four months in Morocco. Really, how much mint tea can one drink?
Yes, we were lucky Though we've had that sort of luck a number of times and now believe there is just a lot more going on in the world than we had ever appreciated before. The audience at the festival was just as interesting as the acts, especially the exuberance of the young fellas hurling each other into the air in between their twirls and leaps.
Our travels over the years have often sought out those places that we haven't yet experienced. We have loved chasing new places, but there is a change underway. We continue to enjoy experiencing other cultures along with their food, beverages, history and ways of life but now, having a little more freedom, we will also make more effort to seek out out such things as music events and festivals, particular natural attractions that we have missed and places where we can better appreciate the history of a place and its people.
The attraction of the road less travelled and the place less visit... full info
