Thanks for the tip When we go back to France we will allow plenty of time for this area. We love walking tours in European cities. They really know how to do them well. Thanks for some history.
Edgy, gritty and diverse First impression are not always the last impressions. You really are doing it right on this trip and seeing a bit of everything. Yes, come back to the U.S. Stay with us in our home. Hope to see you soon. MJ
Cruising the canals of Europe are a wonderful way to see the country side. We rented a 3 bedroom barge in the Netherlands for a week and utterly enjoyed the experience as we saw old Holland, and not the newer suburbs. I'm enjoying your blogs.
Loving Your Blogs Really enjoying your stories and photos. Not sure I would have climbed the White Fir Tower .... looks a bit flimsy lol And a bike ride along the Rhine appeals more to me then boating it.
Insights gained Travel expands our knowledge of places we think we know something about. Glad to hear they have invested in restoration. Thanks for taking us along.
Not far from Breda is the town of Baarle-Nassau... which has the strangest border between two countries, with Belgium totally surrounded by the Netherlands and some of the Netherlands surrounded by Belgium...look at Google Maps to see the convoluted border which goes through homes, etc.
Borders Pondering why borders here take so many twists and turns is a lot of fun. I guess some people just wanted to stay in the country they had been in before the dispute
The Golden Circle Most people start with the Golden Circle. Iceland has waterfalls a plenty. I love the smaller ones that by their standards trickle down the mountainside. Although no one can argue with the beauty of Gullfoss. Lonesome roads, quiet days geyers a plenty....
Iceland is an amazing place Dave here......glad you are enjoying Iceland. We found it to be a wonderfully amazing place like no other on the planet. Glad to see you back on the road. Safe travels!
Our travels over the years have often sought out those places that we haven't yet experienced. We have loved chasing new places, but there is a change underway. We continue to enjoy experiencing other cultures along with their food, beverages, history and ways of life but now, having a little more freedom, we will also make more effort to seek out out such things as music events and festivals, particular natural attractions that we have missed and places where we can better appreciate the history of a place and its people.
The attraction of the road less travelled and the place less visit... full info
