A wonderful blog, we were particularly taken with the squirrel monkeys - gorgeous. What happened to the pink dolphins? Swimming with the piranhas Steve eeek!?!?! You both look great and in your element now that you are back in the warmth. lots of love xxxx
yay Salar! Isn't it just bloody freezing?!! Stunning but freezing. Brought a shiver back to me just thinking about it! You saw flamingoes though!! How cool! Why are you back up in La Paz though???? Aren't you coming south to see me??!! You're going the wrong way people! xxxxxxxxxxxx
Golly, what an amazing experience for you both. Some good photography there! Concrete beds? We're waiting to see where you will be sleeping in the jungle......have fun and we hope Steve soon feels much better. Lots of love to you both. xxxxxxxxxxx
Beautiful scenery and we love the reed island and all the colourful materials. -20C? Ughhh!! You really should buy a couple of those blankets (are they made from alpaca wool?) and cut a hole in for your head. Do take care. lots of love. xxxx ps: Titicaca? - what a super name ;-))
Reed boats Were there any Thor Heyerdahl look-alikes on the lake? Lesley has been inspired to re-read The Ra Expeditions. Your photo 17 looks very much like the boats that guided the construction of Ra 2.
Hi Definitely an alpaca. Awesome photos of things made out of reeds - love the boat head. Keep well wrapped up and have plenty of hot toddies to keep you warm! Gwen x
Conferences Talk about a nice venue! Do four people actually constitute a conference? I can't believe that the kids could beat the bus.. amazing. I think they deserved some money.. as we did when we reached the top! :O) xxxxx
Hey Mike Hope you both had a lovely time in Spain. I whole heartedly recommend the Galapagos, they are just amazing. I would love to go back. Lovely to hear from you, love to you and the rest of the Day clan. xxxxxxxxxxx
Reminiscences of Machu Picchu I went to a conference in Lima some 20 years ago, and your blog brought it all back. I was there for two weeks, and went to Cusco the first weekend, and, as you say, the lack of oxygen certainly held you back. I certainly got the bus up the mountain, and was amazed, like everyone, with MP. On the return bus down the mountain some boys raced down, appearing like magic at each bend, and at the bottom appeared smiling, with, of course, their hand held out.
On the Monday morning a week later the four speakers gathered in the conference room with the chairman, expecting to run a session. But nobody else appeared. Every single person had gone to up Cusco for thew weekend, but the weather had stopped all flying back on Sunday. The chairman wanted to cancel, but the speakers refused, so we each spoke to an audience of three! Lovely place.
Lots of love

Galapogas Islands I have just got back from Spain and have read your latest blogs. It is really great reading about what you are both getting up to. You make it all so vivid and the photos are brilliant. The video of the sea lion was amazing. Maggie and I have always wanted to go to the Galapogas Islands.
Love
Mike
Isn't it just amazing?! Loved it there so much although we lamed out and took the bus - the climb up the longest staircase in the world looked brutal!!! And obviously we didn't make it in time for Wanapichu but that looks like a pretty sketchy walk down too! Yay! It makes me want to do it all over again!!! Mwah! x
Amazing, so cool that you got to climb the big rock at the back!! Seriously better than our trip...check this out, worth walking for 3 days to see this at the sungate, no?

Wow - just absolutely amazing - breathtaking scenery. You both must be very fit to have made that climb - looks really difficult, but clearly well worth it. (Good job you didn't have Charlie and Tess with you!!) Brilliant blog, you always make us chuckle so much. We do hope you will be fully recovered soon Sheryl, a good dose of CSI and TLC sounds about right. lots of love to you both. xxxxxxxxxxx ps: Llama walking?!?!?
You've outdone yourselves Seriously, there is not one single photo there that doesn't make me sick with envy, it looks absolutely STUNNING. Peru is def going to the top of my to do list. Totally feeling the "I hate you" grumbles, Sheryl, I know exactly what you mean ;) Miss you miss you, can't wait for Inja!
Gonna go even higher! You guys are gonna go up, up, up even higher when you travel thourgh Peru and Bolivia - definitely no running to be done there! Big mwahs! xxxxxxx

You both look well too, hope you're having a blast!
Miss you both xx
Hi Gwen Thanks for the lovely comment. We are having such a wonderful time, I know it´s going to seem like a dream when we´re back home. I have definitely pushed my bravery boundaries on this trip. Some things are called 'once in a life time' for a reason! :)
