Beautiful and clear photographs. You have both done so well - what a month and such a treat for us all. I expect it will be quite strange to be land bound for a while. Take care and keep safe. All our love. xxxx
Whale sharks...lucky buggers!! I can't believe it, on the day me and Huw left too!! I'm so pleased you saw 1 after 3 weeks of searching and yes I am so jealous, glad you got some photos though....looks incredible, an experience to remember!! xxxx
Big Fish Little Fish Hi Sheryl and Steve
It sounds amazing seeing those big sharks so close up, especially the 7 metre whale shark. I would have been terrified if it was me! We had some news today, Chris and Mel are expecting a baby in December. I'll be a granpa! Sounds really old. All the best.
Love
Mike
Thanks all Thanks for your comments! It was incredible. I really do feel bad for Huw and Michelle.
Dr John is the doctor on Utila. He's a complete hippy, walks around bare foot, smokes and has black nail polish (accoring to Cailin who had to get a shot from him). Sounds like a real character. I've only ever heard good things about whale sharks, but I'm glad I heard that after I went swimming with them! :O)
Lots of love to you all
xxxxx
Incredible! Huw is going to be so jealous! It must have been such an amazing experience.
Yesterday we found a video of Dr John describing an attack of a Whale Shark on a girl in the water. Huw thought he was probably on a high!
Keep safe and lots of love.
Joan
Incredible photos - you've brought tears to my eyes. The spinner dolpins are so beautiful and that Whale shark?!? I can't imagine getting so close to such a large mammal. You lucky old things!! ps: I've already told Huw!!!
Hmmm The diving in Egypt is spectacular. Although, it's been some time since we went so we're planning on going back so we can do a thorough comparison. :O) Lots of love xxx
DUNKING! Well done on the dunking front. I won't be so stupid as to declare my hand and say I'm going to aim for it now becuase that would only lead to a world of dunking pain in Goa :) So...where you going next?!
Hi Mike Thanks for the message. We cetainly do fit a lot in the day, although we are generally in bed by 9 which helps. Hope all is well with you and Maggie. Love to you both. xxx
Can't get enough Loving the diving, learning more about the marine environment just makes it better. I only get one good photo for every five I take, but some days the fish behave
Incredible fish Most impressed by your fish photos - are you thinking of a new career? Now that John is no longer tied to the office please let us know when is a good time to try to talk to you. You both look fantastic too, the life must suit you!
Wow fantastic blog - what a treat to wake up to. Loved all the photos and so good to see the fish and coral - beautiful. Thanks for the underwater message too. Lovely to talk to you last night - keep happy and safe. xxxx
Cat in a hammock What a good combo. Looks like you're having fun, I'm increasingly jealous but I trust you both to make the most of the experience :) What happened to Steve's backpack? I'm sure I remember having a conversation with him about how much we loved our trusty backpacks that had seen us through thick and thin just before you left!
Oh and last weekend was the grand national and the first sunny weekend of spring - so many happy memories, I missed you both muchly xxx
DooooRon Yay! How was your trip?? How did you find the diving??? I've been saying 'yeah, well my mate is doing this in the Phillippines too'. He he. We've been trying to guestimate fish sizes today. I think I still need some practice! Good to hear from you xxx
Hi Joan Was it the info on UCME that you're interested in? I can send you links and stuff if you like. I didn't take a camera away with me because I thought I could buy one out here. How wrong I was. This lovely pink one is waterproof to 3m though so it's excellent for taking on a boat or snorkling. Hope all is well your end. Lots of love xxxxx
