the joys of staying in hotels etc. i've been in that situation too many times - nothing worse then hearing someone else shagging especially when it sounds like there right there in bed with you - yuck. paper thin walls, walls that don't meet the ceillings etc - may as well be in a dorm! had a bucks party on either side recently. try earplugs.
That is beautiful. How lovely Santuario De Las Lajas looks from these photo's. Sounds like it was a nice day to have and visit. Goodbye Colombia!
Hope you get better soon Shelly, I'm sporting on of those myself at the moment. I'm voiceless, Andi loves it xx
Lard lardy lard. Are all of Botero's sculptures and paintings super sized? I quite like them.where else on this trip did you run into his works? I cant recall what city, you've been to sooooo many.
Nice hairdo Shell. I must say you both look great in the photo's posted, fresh, healthy and happy.
Love from us xxx
Good Plan! You definately deserve the extra night stay, it was a hell of a journey getting to Barichara!
Sounds like a great watering hole, nice small town feel, great veiw from the hotel.
Maybe these folk (as in all of them) dont have decent coffee machines, or the knowledge of how to use one?? Shelly give them a speil on how your an Aussie barista and offer to make them a cup, then sneak one in for yourself, that might work?
laundry Oh sorry guys that was me who packed away your clothes at the hotel...Ahhh .I should mention that Power Ranger underwear is no longer in fashion....
f&&&^%%$$$ing gondalos . You think those guides are bad .I had to fight off a horde of Jehovah Witness dudes last weekend . ( apparently my soul will burn in hell ) I did not have the heart to tell them that I have no soul .
Welcome back! Hey guys xx, pretty spot, the trek sounds nice, its funny how we naturally assume hammocks are comfortable, for a short time maybe, not for an overnite sleep though. Bummer about the mong guide and very sad about whats happening there to the jungle, the heavy slashing, it seems to be happening everywhere in the world. Those children looked so sweet, found it sad to see them behind a barbed wired fence though?
Glad you both made it back limbs conected.
be good xx
Jungle fever!!!! Sounds awfully exciting!! Hammocks and all. You sure have a funny way of convincing yourselves, slowly, slowly, HOOKED! Hope you had fun. I'm looking forward to the read. xx
Very pretty. Caragena sounds lovely. The police presence is reassuring. Guess its so touristy they cant afford people feeling threatened or unsafe. We had a nice Easter break here 4 days in total. It sounds like you've really enjoyed this stay. Great write up asusual. xx
Those boooooooos rides!!!! Frightening!! Medellin sounds nice. 24 see you laters in one week, drug related or not. EEEEK! If thats not enough to frighten the tourists away, I\'m not sure what is? The booos rides would be helpin. Stay safe x
Not again!!! Hope your lovin the schnitzel! Some of that trip sounds hairy, scary. even.
New buses! Thats a treat. take care, also have been trying to send photo\'s thru to your email, however its not accepting mails? xx
Is a Wow again! Great write up, fabulous detail. You both sound happy, satisfied. I cant imagine being so close to all the marine and wildlife, seems impossible, yet it happens, incredible, thats how I felt in Africa.
The iguanas look amazing, little dinosurs. i love the photo with the sea lion and iguana sunning themselves hahaha. sharks, lots of them, sounds scary, maybe not? blue boobies,, I mean who wears blue feet in this world, only boobies. love it, I want to go. no gecko. xx
Patagonia and Bariloche I/we have only just found your blog, thanks to a search for "Black Glacier, Pampa Linda". Went back a day to see where you'd come from and love your style of writing! As well as the info of course. We're in, or rather just outside, Bariloche right now - here for another few days. There's almost no sign of the ash now. We came here from El Calafate - by 737 - and after reading your blog, very glad we missed the mamba by road - it was the same from 30,000ft! Love to hear from you.
Thanks guys Glad you enjoyed the blog, please excuse our waffling on at times. We write this for our family but always try and throw stuff in that might help fellow travellers. Whilst on ruta 40 we would always look up and wished we were flying. Thanks for your comment and hope our blog helped you or gave you a laugh.
Safe travels
Shelley and Scott
What no local beer! hey guys xx, Quito does look alittle cagey. I like the photo's of the houses on the hill. the windows look as if their not glassed? Wont be long before you hit the half year mark, it seems to have gone so fast. a big thankyou as always for the blog xx
Amazing!! Looking at those photo's, reading your rants and knowing some of it was tough, makes it all seem worth while, in saying that I can appreciate your comments on the overlaoad of tourists and the limited time to enjoy the veiws, the rain didnt help any. hahahaha Scotty that comment from within the dampness of the tent made me laugh. I'd do it all, Torres del Paine too, that was an incredible trek also.
I wish I was doing exactly what you are doing, wish I was seeing and experiencing it all just like you two are. What an amazing trip your having, isnt life wonderful xx
How exciting!!! Its raining here too, like lots!!!!! I couldnt believe it took me 80mins to get from Belmore to Camperdown this morning. Cooks river was overflowing into the walk way and park, never seen it like that before.
Cant wait to here about the trek xx
Memento mania! Guess you were due for an average tour with a not so good guide. The photo's of the place look great, as always. The sacrifical stone looked eerie, thought the the paw looked alittle like annie's, just smaller x
Looks delightful. Very pretty, romantic too. Love the colours. I like small towns nestled with in the mountains.
I agree, why wouldnt you cut the stones to similar sizes? Does look arty thou. x
