charming Yes I have ridden through Laos twice now and am going back in April too punish myself again .I will shave my legs before I get tgere in case I run into you .Good luck good travelling. You have a good feel for Laos and poverty is a good thing .
Be a tree Dear Serpil'cim,
You are at the beginning of your quest not necessarily the end.
My sentiments are that you should be like a tree. Don't think too much. Simply just exist. Observe your environment. Enjoy your breathing. Be a sponge to beauty of nature...
True happiness is shared... I feel when you talk about being connected this is where the chain is missing a link. Don't rush your journey back home - (as much as we wish to see your return :). Learn patients and perserveriance.
Home is always where the heart is...
I hope I don't hear you utter those words "I'm busy" ever again... :)
PS If you do want to come home sooner do so. You can always visit those places with loved ones again you know... ;)
All sound wonderful... Love the pictures of your journey Hi Serpil,
All that sounds fantastic journey of discovery and love the pictures and your write ups. I'm very happy you are discovering life from another perspective and finding meaning, true depth and aspiration for the future...
Can't wait for you to return so we can find out more about your experiences; the highs and the lows... :)
Keep up the footwork and bon voyage...
Take care and all the best... :)

Jane walks through Jungle... Hi Serpil,
Sounds like you are having a fantastic time. Watching hollywood films will not seem so sureal anymore... I guess not many people get to experience an elephant urinating... I'm now wondering what a thundering experience number two must be. Did the earth move for you LOL...
All the best and keep the updates coming...
Love and kisses,
M
Chitwan - yay! Hi Serpil, Hope you're having a brilliant time! Sorry to hear about the car crash, i'm sure riding an elephant made up for it! We loved Chitwan. Joe saw a tiger footprint, but sadly no Tigers. Have fun in Delhi xx
I'm sitting here at work feeling very jealous right now!! It look so amazing, I'm really impressed that you're "going with the flow"!! Miss you lots xxx
Rafting down the Trishuli river Its entirely incredible! Rafting along the challenging rapids of Trisuli River like Twin Rock, Ladies Delight and Scout Upset can be extremely mind-blowing experience.

Slimmers holiday... Great to hear you updates Serpil - keep em up...
I do think you should try the food and write about all the different tastes and smells on your travels though. When we go on holiday eating is one of our favourite past times at various places we visit. In fact we rate the places on choice and taste of food to a large extent...
As mentioned before golden rule is to eat where you see lots of other people eating. They must know something. Don't eat in places which have lots of empty chairs and tables as inviting as it may look.
Good to hear you are making friends with the locals. I do like Chinese people as they are always so hospitable and polite.
Don't mean to make you hungry but I shall be having tuna and salad washed down with a nice cup a black coffee then driving down due South...
Take care, XX

Hi abi Hi abicim and happy bayramlar and all that jazz!
I'm fine, it's been a bit difficult finding an internect connection and I've been moving around a lot. I just arrived at this hostel, Kunming Cloudland Hostel and they have free internet and decent computers so I will update my blog later on today.
I've been really really struggling with food! I didn't realise what a fussy eater I was, I have lost loads of weight and I'm basically eating one meal a day - normally noodles, I'm sick of them! I'm really craving some meat, especially chicken, but what can I say, I am a MAJOR wuss! My only defence is that it's really stressful to have to eat something where you have no idea what you're eating!
Especially having seen some of the menus, to date, these are the things I have seen on a Chinese menus (the only one English one I've seen), horse ribs, sparrow porridge, snake, bacteria!, cataphillar fungus, old chicken soup, fried intestine, pigs feet, a whole pig's face!!! Do you get the picture??
Anyway, I am absolutely fine, love lots xx
Thank you! Yay, that's so cool, glad the blog is okay and you enjoyed it! Feels a bit self-indulgent just writing about myself all the time, but I guess that's the idea!! Love xx
Wooooo - joys of delight... Hi Serpil,
How is it going. I guess you are now in mainland China and difficult to come across internet connections...
Hope you are keeping well, eating good nourishing oodles of noodles and enjoying your self.
Wishing you a happy bayramlar and lots of fun...

Is it hot and humid in HK??? Hi Serpil,
Great blog and most entertaining read. Feel as if I'm almost there with you. Considering Chinese after the Indians are the most popullace of nations I think is an indication the food will not kill you.
I suppose it might but I read somewhere there is a 98.6% similarity between a chimpanzee and a human being. Having said that there is also a 70% similarity between a snail and a human being's DNA.
So go for it and try every type of food you come across. You never know one day you may be on I'm now a celebrity get me outta here so plenty of practice for you to win those challenges. :) :)
Enjoy all that you do...

Well after a lot of talking about it, I am finally off travelling around the right hand side of the world map. It's been a tough road just to get here. I know it's going to be even harder along the way, but it's also going to be amazing and magical and hopefully a personal journey of spiritual growth and lots of yoga!!
I am off to find myself in some ashram in India, or atop some mountain in Nepal, or maybe even in some bar in Phuket. Who knows! First stop China...... full info
