You are an inspiration! Shari,
Oh girl...I am so sorry your hike was cut short. I know how much you were looking forward to going out there and meeting new hikers and experiencing the adventure of it all. Keep the faith girl. There is still time for a "next time". Perhaps a smaller back back next time!
Thank you for sharing your time on the trail. I enjoyed your writing and was sorry to come to the end of your comments.
Pam
welcome back! Shari - What a wonderful adventure, even if cut short. You have inspired all of your readers, especially Rotarians, with your spirit, honesty, determination and great writing about it all! Thanks for including me in your list. I have learned a lot and begun to think about what "adventures" I need to embark on in my own life.
I'm sooooooooo sorry! Hi Shari, my dear sweet friend. I just found today your blog log and have read them all through. I was reduced to tears in sympathy for you. Why, oh why, do our bodies have to retaliate on us when we need them the most. I saw Mike's comment that you were coming home...........call me when you get in.
I love you. My dad is coming for Christmas, so maybe the two of you can talk about the pain of leaving the trail when all you want to do is hike. He fortunately was able to finish the trail, but within a year developed asthma and has never been able to hike since (about 22 years now.).
\Thank you for the wonderful blogs. Cannot believe that I lost your blog address, but was so happy when I found it today. I'm so proud of you and so proud to have you as my friend. You are such an inspiration to me. Take care of yourself and I'll see you when you get home, ok?
Love ya,
Margaret
Can't wait to see you You are SUCH a great writer, and even though this hasn't gone quite as planned you sound so upbeat and positive! I am VERY proud of you and I can't wait to see you back home next week. We look good bald!
Love, Mike

My training going well, not as advanced as this time last year but will be ready by Nov. Call me when you get home. lOve and lots of xxxoooxxx Carol
You Are An Inspiration! Shari, my friend, I'm so completely moved by your authenticity and your humanity. I've been reading your blogs as they've come in, rather than working...see what a bad influence you are?! Anyway, I have tears in my eyes and I'm just blown away by your commitment and courage. Shaved head, wounded knee, blisters, skinny bod and all...you rock! I love you and I'm sending tons of good healing energy your way. Take good care and love yourself for all that you've accomplished...you deserve it! Jody.
Take Care Shari, I am sorry to hear of your injury, but am confident you know how to take care, and that you will make the right choice to continue or not. Remember the physician credo, "Do No Harm" I will be saying an extra prayer for your decision and hope the knee gets better soon. Love,
Carolee
Every step Every step is significant! The fact that you took one makes you my hero. Sheri you are braver then any woman I have ever known. If it is time to stop your journey, than so be it. I wish you the best in what ever you decide. Take care my friend.
SAD Sorry At Difficulty with bursa sac, I have questions but they will wait. Mike, Please email me or call my cell phone. Praying for healing of that sac. Tell Shari to hang tough. Everyone will be sending healing thoughts and good wishes. Love, MAH
Hang in there! Thanks Mike for keeping us informed. When you talk to Shari, tell her, her friends at One Day at a Time Motivation are rooting for her and for her to hang tough and do this hike one step, one mile, and one day at a time. Hopefully, her injury is a minor one that can be overcome with some rest. I will be checking back for an update.
Janice
Oh My God! Shari, it never occured to me that you were battling the hurricane, but of course that would be the case. Wow! I'm sorry about the weather and your knee, but given your spirit and commitment, I know you will make the best choices all the way around. During your recoup time, feel free to call if you want some words of support, someone to listen, some inspiration or whatever you need. In the meantime, I'm sending much good joo joo and love your way. Hugs and kisses. J.
Where's the lollypop? Shari,
We met only a few weeks ago and I felt an immediate connection with you. I've been thinking about you and your journey and am so amazed with your determination to achieve this goal. Stay dry, stay safe and well. Have a wonderful hike!
P.S. I love the matching do's! Jeannette
Fourth full day Hi Shari: Needless to say you are in my thoughts every day, seems like all day. : }, Have you been able to stay at least half way dry? I hope the trail was not made more difficult by Ernesto. It is a trip you have earned and I wish for you a safe and joyous journey. Talked to Bill and we are all excited he has reached a long held goal. When we go to CT we will see Jonathan play on Sat. and Sun. YAY. Not sure if Jess will be home. All are wishing you lots of energy, stamina and the joy of having reached another milestone. Love You, Mom
You do Bald well... Hi Shari. Mike was here to watch the game with Randy the other day

candy.. : ) We love you... Deb (and Randy, too)
