New Character With Mark here it's like adding a new character to a show you're watching...don't worry your ratings are great! It's so fun to see you two together...especially all wet and cold in bathing suits! ;o) Careful tho, Mark...looks like Schaazy's a tree hugger...has she been wearing berkenstocks???
The lone Piper It's amazing seeing the way other places honour the people that fought for them. The place and the poppies are beautiful. Yet...I'm reminded of your lone piper and how much more moved I was reading about that than this....interesting.
MacRae Memorial Just under a year ago, I brought my friend Peter up from Toronto to Ottawa. He's a former soldier, having served overseas with the JTF (joint task force). While in Afghanistan he was shot by a sniper, and his military career subsequently was ended. I brought him to the war museum, which is incredible, and one of the displays was the Pistol of John McCrae. Seeing it, and reading the words he wrote, brought me to tears. I'm pretty teary eyed right now after having seen your photos of the plaque. Thank you for sharing them, I never would have known it was there.
Carpe'd the Diem? I love it, I'm sat here, catching up on your adventures, and had to read that one aloud to my Girlfriend. I think that single expression explained to her exactly why I try to keep in touch with you. I'm still jealous of your remarkable journey, but you know that once you're home, you've got a place to crash in Ottawa if you want to catch up and have a few.
yeah for Mark! Loved your mini entry and damned skippy you got the best guide around! I'm deeply impressed with the determination to swim...I remember not being able to wait to jump in the lake as a kid and the near-hypothermia that resulted. Way to make us Canucks proud!
Hey everyone Having such a good time here in Scotland and spending time with Sarah is something i've anticipated for months. Her knowledge of the country and extensive preperation for my arrival has made this a very enjoyable experience. I am very grateful to have such a wonderful person in my life.
I can assure you all that loch ness was every bit as chilling as any canadian polar bear dive contest i've done. As well, touring the highlands was something I will never forget. Our tour guide was also very knowledgeable, although I can say with absolute confidence that my best tour guide thus far has been Sarah. Thank-you :)
Skye Glad to hear that Mark arrived safe and that you two have been up to no good. Travel with someone else can be great, there is more motivation to see things and share the experiences. Hope you two enjoy your time together, looking forward to more photos.
Muffin Can't imagine what you're feeling luv, but things are about to get soooo amazing with Mr. Mark joining your adventure! Seems one can't evade those alpha-females even across the Ocean huh? You're a rock dear and don't you forget it. Remember how the top of that mountain felt...
Welcome Home! First, I had to show my hubby your "Potter" pics, he loved them. Now, I have to say...maple leaves and squirrels and birches? Oh my! It really did look like home for a bit there...and don't forget that home misses you too!
Peace It's so amazing that the people who have been through the worst that humanity has to offer, are the ones that speak out so loudly, so freely, about peace. You'd think that they would be the most afraid but it's quite the opposite. I'm moved by the stories and names of this place.
HISTORY I'm loving all the historical info. and sites I'm getting to see through you. Yeats headstone blew me away! Loved the mystical looking waterfall...even though it soaked you...hehe
Sea Legs Well, well ,well, wifey,
Welcome to the wonderful world of motion sickness! Way to tough it out tho! More breathtaking pics...love the one from the edge of the cliff...made ME feel like I was gunna fall. whoop whoop to the "trailer" hoodie...that reference brought back some memories! LOL
Like the hiking stick idea. Alternatively you could paint her feet and see if she ever gets up and leaves footprints.
Somewhat like a soapie - love it because I actually know the star!
Big hugs all the way from Oz (have a little Aussie sunshine to go with it).
Poking Stick? If you have a good hiking stick, you can always use it as a poking stick, that way you can check on your seemingly deceased roomie. I hope work goes well, keep the updates coming, you're like my own personal soap opera.
*hugs* Just sending some positive vibes across the Atlantic for you. I'm sure you'll do fine at work, just remember, this isn't a career, just a job to get some scratch together, if it's really that bad you can just walk away. That'll be your revenge against the Alpha, screwing her over by leaving her to deal.
Whassup? Hey there! Hope you're feeling better. Are back in Scotland? I'm looking forward to going to Alabama in 3 weeks and three days later I'll be in Ontario for a quick visit before Xmas. Work's kinda busy, the cat's cranky and curling started last week...otherwise nothing new.

Aran Island Galway is great and so is Killarney. Makes me sad now that I'm back in the states going to local bars after enjoying many nights at Quay's and King's Head in Galway. What a beautiful country, super friendly people and amazing beer ... did you try any Kilkenny beer? I enjoy the Aran Island cliffs more so than Cliffs Of Moher. On the main island is Ti Joe Mac, a great pub for the locals ... or try The American Bar just down the hill. Can't wait to read more!!!
mistake...THE MOTHER SHIP WOW!! You really were meant to go on this trip huh? Almost every entry is yet another dream come true for you. COULDN'T BE HAPPIER FOR YOU!
