Harley and Annabelle - Packrat Rednecks I once spent hours examining a packrat's collection of thorns, stones, seeds, bits of glass, and even a discarded Panasonic camera case in some forgotten place in western badlands. That collection was fascinating but nothing nearly as fascinating as the collection of Route 66 memorabilia, antiques, and sundry items in the SandHills Curiosity Shop curated by Harley and Annabelle. It's a sight not fully appreciated once or even twice. The same goes for their entertaining way of warmly welcoming folks to the otherwise dry, dusty, dull little redneck town of Erick, Oklahoma.
I've known Harley and Annabelle for almost 20 years now and can attest to their "realness". No where in the world will you find any one like them or any experience like their Mediocre Music Making. It's so good to hear such good things about them from people making long voyages from around the planet to visit with them. To have had such an impact on Route 66 tourism without really intending to do so, Harley and Annabelle have apparently generated a lot of healthy joy and excitement in their own, honestly quirky way. Long Live The Mediocre Music Makers and all of the people who love them.
Wow - Awesome Trip Sarah and Bob - you have a great journey going and what a better way to spend time together that you will never forget!! Its fun watching the journey - stay safe and keep having fun!
Staircase No one(even me) can figure out how it was made and what makes it so strong. Don't even know what kind of wood!!Tell us about the weather. It,s super hot here. Your story telling is wonderful, got to make it into a book for your children. And the pics are so good too. Love you both.
wigwam motel I sure hope they have a cancellation for tomorrow night - that would be awesome. Either way, get some pictures! Maybe they would let you see the inside of one of the rooms just for a photo! Love you!
Katie just walked on my keyboard so I don't know what happened to what I just wrote. I love the totem pole. Many pictures but nothing like yours AND the Bug Ranch. We are all right there with you in spirit! Can't wait to read the next chapter!!! Love MM
This is fantastic! I love it! Thank you for taking the time to do this! I still don't have pictures 10 and 11 yet. Hopefully you can get those to come up. Can't wait to read tomorrows posting! Love You!
The great adventure I only wish I could be with you both. A trip to remember forever. I'll follow you every day, loving every word. Drive carefully. Miss you already
