Latest Journal Hello Sarah, I have been receiving your travelblogs for a while now... and I have been truely amazed at the things you and Emma have been up to... But just to put your mind at rest life does go on for the rest of us in civilisation.... including the latest office move.... I have been on leave for a month and just about to go back after the bank holiday, schools will be back a week or so later, so it's back to grind stone. Take care, looking forward to the next journal....... Sue O
Great Stuff Sarah this looks wonderful, exciting, out of this world! How comes David Attenborough has never mentioned it?
I'd hold on to that Australian chap who didn't complain he sounds wonderful.
Who would have thought it? Sarah your blog brings back so many memories of the conflict in Vietnam with so many young americans dying there. Kennedy sent them in in ever increasing numbers but although he has never been given much credit Nixon actually brought America out in 1975.
Anyway what have I told you about stray dogs both the 4 and 2 legged variety!
Whilst in Thailand my sister was trying on trousers and the stall holder said to me 'you want trousers? I have very big'
Zipedy-doo-dah Zipedy-day! Wow!!!! I literally gasped at my desk when I saw these photos (giving away the fact that I had not in fact retreaed to my desk to finish some paperwork!). This looks absolutely amazing, I simply HAVE to go. By the way, I'll email my intinerary asap! Glad you're both having a wonderful time and looking absolutely glowing. xxxx
Bangkok I am sorry you did not visit the crocodile farm. The performers are thrown money and put it in the crocodile's mouth and retrieve it. As a treat you can have your photo taken with a croc. Now that would be something!
Superman! You're right - your superman chin has definately got worse!
Maybe you should try not to stand too close to Emma with her lovely, girly, pointed chin! It only emphasises your manly jaw!!!!!!!!! xxxx
Homestay in Ubud Hi Nessie, The homestay we stayed at in Ubud was called Sari. It is in the North East of the town i think officially in another suburb but it is only a few minutes walk. It wasn't airconditioned but had a pretty good fan from what i remember. It was 45,000 Rp per night for a double including breakfast. Hope this helps!
Hi Read your JBR Was really interested to find out the name of that Homestay you stayed at ?? Was it air conditioned ??
I am actually from another forum and just come over this by chance

Really hope your leg has healed up by now! That didn't sound pleasent!! Nor did the amount of sweating going on. Kinda makes me glad to be in England .... almost.
Everything you've seen sounds fantastic; I'd have loved to have hung out in a bat cave - I love them!! (By the way - urban myth; bats have never been known to get tangled in people's hair, so you would have been safe: promise!) Not so keen on diving with a shark, but it must have been a wonderful experience. I swear you're including these things just to see how jealous you can make me ... well, you're succeeding admirably!
Everyone at the office says 'Hi!'
Blimey ! That bee is huge !!!!!!!! What an earth do they feed them on over there ? Glad to hear your having a fab time. Keep up the blogs and I'll keep up the gossip. xx
Amazing pictures!! Hey Sarah, it sounds like you're having a ball...it's almost as if I'm really there with you - I still relive the bus smells myself. And your photos are really cool-who takes them?!!! : )
From Jane Brown xx
So jealous! Hey Sarah! Sorry I've not commented eariler - so busy here with work and seething with jealousy!! ^_^ I'd have loved to have seen the Komodo Dragons - hard to imagine how big they really are when you've only seen them in photos or on tv.
The photos of the temple were brilliant - though I'm sad to hear about the vandals. Such a beautiful place! Hope you and Emma are having an absultely brilliant time (in spite of mad bus drivers and smelly passengers) - bring back tons of photographs! Everybody here will want to see them!
Safe journey both of you.
Beverley
Worry over It's marvellous to get such a great letter. The news on the telly has been a bit worrying but then a bit of rain is unlikely to get you down for long. Can't wait for the next installment.
xx
Lucky you! Hi Sarah
despite the rain I still think you have the edge over us here in England in the dark if not exactly cold of winter. We're off to California for half term so not too much moaning permitted by me but then I come back to an interview to see if I'm good enough to keep doing the job I've been doing for 9 months already! Wish me luck!
Julie
Hey, glad to hear you're enjoying the start of it all! Seeing your pics outside ruined temples makes me very nostalgic and jealous (i think this comment will precede all future emails i send you!)
Im still manic with my course - have sorted work experience for easter and have an 'informal chat' with another ghuy from radio jackie in south west london on thurs.
However, am not so busy that I havent been spending most nights in the pub! (You can take the girl out of the boozer...)
After boring people for the last couple of years with plans of my trip, the time has nearly come for me to put my money where my mouth is and actually get on the plane!
18 months of travelling around East Asia and South America with a little trip home in the middle. Not sure whether I'm excited or terrified but either way, here goes...!... full info
