pictures of kids with drums Hello,
my name is Elisita and I am the director of Each 1 Teach 2, a nonprofit organization working on a program to create a global community of organizations teaching music and dance to youth. I came across your pictures of kids in Brazil and would like to know if I could use these pictures until I am able to get down to our program and take some of my own. I am in the states now, building our website and such, so it would be a great help to use your pictures. please let me know if it is ok with you. Thank you
extremely jealous! currently sat in the office with sun shining looking at photos of you livin la vida loca! currently awaiting your return with baited breath think our 1st night out may be Gould's bday! sssssssccccccccccchhhhhhhhnnnnnnnnnoooooooobbbbbbbbbssssssssss xxxx
Copacabana Did you compare the two Copocabanas ? - The original one in Bolivia and its posh namesake in Brazil ? The floating islands you missede were where Thor Heyerdeahl got his ideas
Memories One of the things that struck me in La Paz was the little old women - at least they looked old! Walking down a central street - probably the one in your photos - I saw women who were no taller than my waist.
Danger in the richest city in SA I am surprised to hear that Potosi is the highest city in Bolivia - I thought that El Alto, a suburb of La Paz, was higher ? I have a friend who was born in Potosi, but she doesn't remember much about it.
I hope you are going to La Paz - much nicer ! Took my breath away when I saw it !
Wow! David Attenborough eat your heart out! Hope you are taking malaria tablets and spraying with jungle formula. Not sure which is worrying me most - the favelas and gun toting drug dealers or the disease infected insects. Oh well as long as you are enjoying yourself. Keep safe!

Sounds like an incredible experience going into the favelas but of course you have managed to frighten the life out of me. I hope the waterfalls is a peaceful interlude. Devastated by lack of photos from football match! Keep Safe x
Iguasu Another good entry ! Apart from the helicopter trip over the falls, the best place to see them is from the Argentinian side.
For me the most impressive thing in Iguassu was the continual queue of smugglers crossing the bridge from Paraguay riding pillion on tiny motor scooters, each with a computer or TV wrapped in a binliner on his back. Every person is allowed to bring free one item per trip for his personal use, so they don't break the law entering Brazil. But they then briobe the customs officials to avoid the high import taxes with which Brazil protects its nacent industry, and then sell them at high profit in Rio etc. These mules make ten or more trips per day.
When I was in Paraguay in 2004, they had just gor rid of their mad dictator. There were graffiti saying "Under Stroessner we couldn't talk, under democracy we can't eat". If you do go into Paraguay, you'll benefit your budget - there's nothing to buy there. If you don't, you've missed nothing - except it's on the way to Bolivia !
Whey Sammy! i only just discovered your blog!! so i enjoyed a very pleasant half hour reading while i was supposed to be working hard. I hope u r having fun! Re-apply your suncream every couple of hours!! i dont care how long it claims to last on the bottle. keep safe and look after Azzy Wazzy (he will love that i've called him that) x x x ps i am most jealous of all your steaks!
Fancy Dress in Rio I thought you HAD dressed up for Carnival. Aren't you the bloke in a concrete overcoat with your arms stretched out sideways on top of a hill in Rio ?
Am surprised you didn't feel the need to dress up for carnival - you usually don't need much incentive. Sugar Loaf looks fantastic. Not happy about the hair though - or lack of it ! Hope it grows back soon. Enjoy Brazil. Keep Safe xx
Which one are you ? I like the photo of Christ and you - are you the big stoney one ? The views from the peaks are indeed marvellous, but the Cathedral was disappointing. It's amazing how the favelas are right next to posh golf courses - inequality is the curse of all Latin America, but Lula is doing his best to equalize. Rio is also great for shoeshops - I've just today thrown away a pair of trainers I bought four years ago. Where next ? Your capacity for making friends will get you into trouble with con-men, so watch it
Rough with the smooth To appreciate the World, you have to experience the dull bits as well - after all, that's 90% of it. Yes, I found Uruguay dull, but that was because it was like England! Also one of the safest places.
Beware of "friendships" - that's how they get you !
well well well It looks like your doing the robot on one of the pics! I didnt think you could pull it off! Atleast your not adorning your villa scarf on these ones!
On the next photos see if you can pull off the caterpillar?
