We finished our trip quite successfully in the Algarve. It's a beautiful region, some places more upscale than others, more focused on the beach scene than other regions, which are either places for learning, or making Port, or political intrigue, or just entertaining tourists. In the Algarve, we particularly liked Vilamora for its beach and on-the-beach quality restaurant, and we spent our last day in the region at Lagos, a walled city. It's quite clear that since the centuries have had the locals bossed around (first by the Romans, then the Moors -for five centuries!), walled cities have been quite popular, and today they're stunning places to walk and visit.
