Wow. For Real. Wikipedia site for Fraser Island...............
"On 18 April 2009, two backpackers were killed and four others seriously injured when their rented four-wheel drive vehicle flipped while driving along the island. None of the occupants were found to be wearing seat belts. From 2003 to 2009 there have been 120 serious accidents in similar circumstances."
"Up until 1995, there were no official records of dingoes attacking humans on Fraser Island. In April 2001, a boy wandered away from his family and was discovered dead, with indications of a dingo attack."
r,r,r, mdp, more rain :) If it will make you feel better -- it's raining here too! I think the north state is almost up to our average yearly rain now! I've had to drain water from the pool three times this winter. Hey, I need you to come home -- I'm not being a very good bootcamper! Continue to have a good time and remember it's just a rainy day -- you can still have a grand time!!
P.S. Trinity beat Fall River (54-52) in a super game. We play Hamilton City on Wednesday :0) Go Wolves!!
P.S.S. I won two cases of beer from the French Gulch Bar - When you two get home, we'll make family trip down there to get it. xox
rain???? It seems like you are always in the rain..........hope that tan is coming along okay.
I watched the cross country skiing at the Olympics today and Johan Olson from Sweden came in 3rd.
Trinity is still winning in the BB playoffs (beat Fall River by 2 friday nite) so we go to Hamilton City Wed.
Love, Dad

Melbourne, etc My Internet has been down, so I finally got this blog :0) Enjoy the 12 days in the 2 bedroom apartment. A block from the beach or 45 minute bus ride - I think I'll stay on the beach. Tomorrow I'm off to Fontana (first to see the Ryberg cousins and then to the races - My driver won the Dayton 500 this weekend - Cool!!
I know what you mean Hi Rochelle, my name is Renata, somehow I end up in your blog and it was a lot of fun to read about your trip in Australia.
I know what you mean when you wrote "Everyone looks confused when you say you are going to Canberra (maybe it’s the equivalent of going to Sacramento on a west coast tour?)". I am travel agent, I've been to Australia, and what a coincidence "I live in San Diego". Yep, not many people wants to go to Sacramento. =)
Well enjoy your trip, I will come back to read about it.
If you have some time visit my blog (it is new, just started with it 3 days ago), but my first post was about Kangaroo in Australia. I hope you will enjoy it. Let me know what you think.
Cheers,
Renata

Envious Just got a chance to read all your blogs with pix sent by Colleen.....I hope that you use every minute to pack in as many experiences as possible while you are there (sounds like you are researching a book on bars!)......wish I were 40 years younger!
Love,
Aunt Lynn
Hey, did you meet the german beer drinking team? Remember you have to turn the boot when your half way done. Anyways 450 stairs sounds intense, similar to HSU. And yes beer is the best way to soak in a new culture!
Have fun

St. Michael's St. Michael's -- what a fitting place to end up . . . God is watching out for all of you! Remember when and if you get to London that Jeff Mithchell is living there (Donna's son). I'm sure that he and his family would take very good care of you and your friends. I understand he has extra rooms. Let me know if you need his address/telephone number. I miss you . . . keep your angels with you! xoxox
