The wire fence in front of the church The wire fence is to try and stop any falling rocks from hitting people. In other places they would just cover the rock face with chain link, however , since this is a tourist attraction they opted not to disturb the overall view of the church and it's surrounding rock.
Gute alte Deutchland Thanks for reminding me of all the things I'm going to miss, too. :( Actually, the Schnitzel tops my list with the Autobahn coming in second place. It already seems like forever ago.

Yep... I Miss 'em too Really, I do miss the expansive selection of Haribo candies available almost anywhere in Germany. And the quality booze too :)
Hopefully we'll see future posts about your current/future locations. Just saying...
"Fascinating" I enjoyed the trip even though I wasn't with you, you just make it feel like I was. One thing.........I would not have gone in those tunnels.
I'll be looking foward to future blogs, and revisiting the past ones.
Love you......
Rothenburg odT Rocks! Hey Rosemary... this brings back memories. Did ya'll run around the ramparts like frenzied medieval archers?!? I'm gonna venture a guess and say no. Happy Travels...
Christmas across Germany Finished viewing your blog on Christmas across Germany.....The pictures were beautiful and the descriptions professional. It makes one want to take a trip to Germany at Christmas time, (if I wasn't afraid to fly). I especially liked the snowballs at the bakery.....you can throw those snowballs at me anytime. Love you
Lil' miss artist Hey Ro,
You've always been a great writer, but I just realized you are quite the photographer too. Perhaps we'll collaborate on an art history textbook in our late middle age;-) I finally understand what it is to visit some place and not be able to translate everything, so I know what you meant when you visited the museum on your Speyer trip. Prior to this past December I've always traveled to Spanish speaking countries, so that was no problem for me. But, translating historic and museum jargon from Russian and Ukrainian...yeah....didn't quite get it all. Still it's fun to see new places!
Ibis! We stayed at that Ibis when we left for our honeymoon back in '05. It was pitiful! But you should have seen the one we stayed at in Paris with De Rego a few months earlier. Now that one was simply awful.
I think it's funny that wherever Roaming Rosie goes, she always seems to find a Hard Rock Cafe to eat at. Cologne sounds like a fascinating city, wish we could have gone when I visited.
Margaritas, tequilla, and topless women on sunny beaches. Sounds like a great vacation to me. The pictures reminded me that I have to put up a cuidado con el perro sign at my house.
Outstanding What a wonderful job you did of travel blogging! Thanks for all the photos and thanks for taking the time to do this for us. I am wanting to go to Italy so badly! I have book marked your travel blog so I can continue reading for later. Anyway, thanks again. You took my breath away.
Ahhh... scaffolding! Ahhh, there is scaffolding behind the Spanish steps!!! As a fan of Rome's chaos, I love the write up and pics. When my site goes live, will you contribute??? I'll give yo man mo details when he arrives. Ciao.
Thanks for the memories Hey Kiddo, this blog definitely brought back a lot of great memories. It reminded me of all the wonderful places we got to see and all the fun I had. In the future you might want to leave out the "yellow snow" comments :).
I was just happy to hear that you paid for everything instead of using the five finger discount like you did during Oktoberfest. Love Jimmy The Policja.
What a blast! As you can tell, I am catching up on your journeys. Again, great writing. You might have had some ruff going at times on that trip, but that's what makes for interesting and comic reading.
Well....I'll be seeing you on your next trip, I'll be there.
My husband and I just moved back to Florida, but we lived in Maryland from June 2008 until October 2009, and we lived in Heidelberg, Germany from June 2005 until June 2008. I created this TravelBlog to share our experiences and pictures with our family and friends. We love to travel, so I hope that shows! :) I also love photographing new and beautiful places, so I hope you enjoy both the blogs and the photos!
This photo of us was taken in Nuremberg, Germany in early 2004.
The blogs begin with the Spring of 2006. Don't forget to check out some of my favorite photos from our past tr... full info
