welcome home!!
i can't wait to catch up in person--
what an amazing journey you 've had--
the part about grandpa and the "hamburger" song was so poignant to me-- I had never heard that story. I'm sure this trip inspired many memories of him...
love, Jennifer
Xi'an, previously known as Chang'an (We just spent all day going over the history.) Ask Xiaoli if there is anyone we can say hi to. We leave tomorrow, though. This is definitely an interesting place to be from.
coincidence... I forgot to mention that I enjoyed showing your blog to our babysitter Xiaoli. She watches the kids after school 2 days a week while I"m at work. Her husband is here doing an ENT post-doc at Loyola... and She is FROM X'IAN!
crazy, huh?
Thanks for the wonderful pictures. Sounds like you are having a fabulous time and the experience of a lifetime. Same old stuff here, weather is March gray with temperature tomorrow in the 40s. A heat wave!
nei hao! We've been thinking of you and are glad to hear that everything is going well and that sleep deprivation does not seem to be an issue. You will continue to be amazed and will really feel like a tourist when giggling children shyly gesture that they'd like to take a picture of you. You missed another inch of snow last night!
