Catching Up! I have just read most of your exploits and looked at your photos - and I am quite envious - wish I was that young again to be doing those wonderful trips - camping - dancing the night (and morning) away and still seeing the world - go for it, girl!!!!
Sounds Super! Hi Rachelle
Just read your 'blog' and looked at photos - so glad that you have settled and are now looking forward to your new 'home' - those italian guys sound O.K. (especially working in a restaurant!!!
Loved all the photos - stay away from those HUGE ice-creams - think 'lycra'!!!
The school teaching (3 days) sounds great and will enable you to have 'long weekends' away - so many places to go and 'things' to see!
I know you have been to Buckingham Palace, did you see the Changing of the Guards? Really a spectacular sight, if you haven't, go early and get close to the gates - you have to wait, but it's worth it!
Keep on having a great time and look forward to hearing (and seeing) from you soon.
Stay well and happy,
Love
Sheila
I only just discovered this entry and by the sounds of it you seemingly had a "spiritual" journey--one of discovery. I'd like to learn more about your trip (why, where, how long, etc.) and talk to you about sharing your story on our radio show, www.traveln-on.com. I believe my email is attached (but not published), however, you can obtain our contact information from the About Us page on our website.
What a crack up! Loved the story of your rendevous, you've gotta watch out for those love struck egyptians..heheheh :-) I miss you heaps and can't wait until your back.
HA HA Sorry to say but i found this a very funny read!
Hate to be in your run in with the english speaking local situation (Well the male locals in general) but i would of thought after teaching so many back chatting "Middle Eastern" kids you would have some good one liners. haha
I bet the Seafood was worth it compared to cake or boiled eggs for breakfast/ lunch/ dinner haha
Wow....looks and sounds like its been an interesting adventure !!! I cant begin to imagine how amazing it would be to be up so close to these animals. My heart would be jumping out of my chest too!!!
Be careful and have fun. Miss ya heaps :-)
Beats Sitting in an Office Yes Rachelle - all this does beat sitting in an office-reading your blog just makes me want to walk out right now. Sounds like you are really havinga great time. I won't comment on your spelling (HAHAHA)
Hi Thanks for your comment. Sorry I have not responded earlier. Actually have not had time to do anything but write the blogs. I have just left Zanzibar which was as good as Chobe but on a different level.
In Uganda now and can't remember the name of the campsite we stayed at near Chobe, sorry!
Let me know what you think about my other blogs.
Cheers
Botswana I did a tour of Bots two years ago to the day! I was there for 3 and a half weeks, few days in Zambia and the rest in SA (so 6 in all). It's where I got my nickname 'Medalla' from. Medalla is setswana for 'Old Man' because I was the eldest of my friends that I was touring with, at 23! I remember the Chobe tours. They were to most amazing thing in the whole world. Not even Victoria Falls topped them. I also had the experience of the Elephant herd cross our path, however it was the main road that they were crossing and we were on our way back to the campsite! There was a midmorning traffic jam on the main road as the herd moved in between all the cars. The River Cruise was breathtaking. Such a sunset. Which campsite are you staying in? I'm trying to remember the name of our one, but it was right on the river and had a semi-tamed, one tusked warthog with a few piglets that used to live on the campsite. Our tent was right beside the river and we had Hippos less that 30 feet away from us, grunnting all night! So envious of you right now. Have the most amazing time for the rest of your journey. And if you see a tall, bearded, white ranger/tour guide there called Baloo with a Frence father and Irish mother, tell him all the Irish lads say Kelly-a-bokey, RA! :D

Hey everyone!
Ok I have the bug and I can't get enough. Heading to London to be closer to the action.
As a little girl I always had a strong desire to travel . So follow my journey as I discover my childhood dream! Top choices are Africa, parts of Europe and South America.
