Enjoying your newfie pics. We have almost the same picture of old St. Johns. Glad see the diet is improving from fries, stuffing and gravy to lobster and Cod. I'd leave the kaplin for the whales. Sorry about the weather but that's the way it is on the rock.

Newfie's best
Did you have some screech already? If not, you must try it. By the way I was in St.Johns in 1972 and again in 1978 attending the College of Fisheries. I don't know if that still exists, but it was on the East Side of the Harbor on Southside Road. I have taken their School ship a few times through the Narrows.

Good to hear!
Hi to all, We watched the F1 video clip you sent & that was LOUD! I can understand how you might be somewhat deaf now Bill. What a treat to see! I would have been there with you. A walking tour is a great way to learn about old Montreal. Georgi & I did that in Quebec City & Sienna Italy and thoroughly enjoyed it. Probably learned a thing or two as well. Sounds like, apart from the wet weather, you've had a grand start to your trip. The food alone makes the trip worthwhile. Swartz's……ah, I can almost taste the smoked meat on the guy's plate next to me! Hope the weather in St. John's cooperates with your sightseeing plans. Good to read your blog, & are looking forward to the next one. Cheers for now, Gary
