Philippines - 2016

My first trip to the Philippines including few days in Manila, 10 days in Boracay and one week in El Nido / Palawan.

Philippines was one of the destinations that I had on my bucket list for a long time.
It was in 2009 when a work colleague in Sydney invited me for a birthday evening with his pinoy family - parents, brother and girl friend - to a filipino restaurant / bar in Sydney. Everything was very basic in this restaurant - the furnishing, the food, the karaoke music - but this place was filled by kind and joyful people who made this evening to one of those that I will never forget.

And visiting the Philippines made it clear to me why you have to love this country. Beautiful landscape and beaches. And people where the majority does not have much but joyfulness and kindness in their hearts and know how to enjoy life. Something we 'Westerners' really have to learn.
