Some queries about Kunzum to Chandratal trek Dear Pradipta da,
We are a group of 6 people of 25-28 age group are planning the trek from Kunzum to Chandratal this September. We are planning to stay at Losar (starting from Manali of course) and next morning start the trek to Chandratal from Kunzum La. Do you think we need a guide from Losar? Are the trails visually clear? Though I traveled more than five times in Kaza-Manali route, I never did this trek, otherwise I am comfortable even with more challenging treks like Pin pass, Markha valley etc, so fitness is not an issue. However mountain terrain are often confusing if you can't see your destiny. So are the paths in this trek marked? Is the trail clear?
Hi Kaustuv,
We went there long ago. But I recall that in the beginning part the trail is easy to find, but last few kms goes through grasslands. There it might be a bit tricky. We took a guide who doubled as the cook. So it worked out well. You may consider that to avoid the hassle.

Old memories Went here a few times in the years 1960-1965. It was beautiful then. There was a lot of wildlife on the banks opposite of the hotel.Great fishing in the lake. And Autumn was magnificent because of all the colours of the forrest ( now???) trees. Will be passing through this december 2017 for a cup of tea trying to visualize what was. On memory lane.

Prad - What a great story about your first attempt to ski. I totally understand where you\'re coming from. I experienced the same thing myself but did not have the advantage of \"the hut\" or the Lutz. Despite reading your story, I still think I am the worse skier and student ever! Still working up the nerve to try again. Was so traumatized when I tried it 3 years ago. Besides, I am on the wrong side of 40! Not sure that this is the time to be picking up this sport. Wishing you much success in future ski endevors!

Book your Rooms in advance to avoid any botheration during Yatra. During Manimahesh Yatra (August/September) there is heavy rush of pilgrims at Bharmour so its better to plan your trip now and book the hotel rooms in advance. It is adviced to book the hotel in advance for complete duration of stay for Manimahesh Yatra as rooms may not be available for extension at that time. Extension of hotel booking during Manimahesh Yatra will depend on the availability of Rooms in the hotel.

I like visiting places which are not in any travel list ... not the big cities, rather small little-known places which are off the radar of tourist guides. I am currently living in Delhi, India which gives me ample opportunity to discover the majestic Himalayan region, as well as the deserts of the Rajasthan. Hope my wanderlust spirit will take me around and I will be able to take all on a tour of the incredible places I hope to cover.... full info
