Sampai Jumpar Lagi That was very sweet of them all to give you such a lovely send-off. I suppose you will be feted if you ever return...rose petals, peeled grapes etc. I know you will remember the place fondly, but as you say, it must be great to be home. :)
Hey Flipper, you look fantastic. No orange spray tan for you! Your blogs have been so much fun to read - I will miss them. Will catch up when you start you new job.
Loving your blogs Phip. Good to live a life through someone else!! Man oh man what a sun tan!! I'm back in Aust in October for 2 weeks so hope to catch up again. K
Brown The colour is a hazard of the job! Believe it not I have been sitting in the shade when possible and don't lie in the direct sun on the weekends....I am also hoping to fade a little in the next 5 days....we'll see how that works out.
Brown! You are SO ridiculously brown, there should be a law against it! I bet you are sad to be leaving. I hope it's not too difficult for you to settle back in when you get home. I'm sure darling Rex will be jumping out of his skin when he sees you! That will make you feel glad to be home, for sure.
12 September I know how black you get in the sun, but even I am suprised at how brown you are!! You look like a local, especially next to Bec.
What a fun place - I bet you are going to miss your lunch packets everyday!
Hi Phip!! Hi Phip
Have been following your trip, and it sounds as though it really has been a great experience. Love hearing all that you are doing. When are you coming home? It would be great to organise a catch-up with just a few of us. I missed the last big reunion and would love to see everyone again.
Keep on enjoying yourself!

I'll come back with you next time! I'd love to have seen those baby elephants at the orphanage. You will have a tough time settling back into 'Western' life again when you return. Savour the rest of the time you have there...you don't know how long it will take before you can return.
I bet you will miss SL when you finally leave. When are you coming home, by the way? Seems like you've been there the allotted three months already; are you extending? I fully expect that you will be adroit enough to be shimmying up the coconut trees at home after your stay in SL. :)
hope you are feeling better. lousy when sick and no home comforts. i think you were lucky to have gone for so long without getting sick. thought you would have had the dreaded (delhi) bellie before this.
photos once again are fabulous. will keep the lime juice in mind! sounds a bit like WD 40.which also is a cure all as well as a body rub. take care. love carol
23 July OMG the bugs would drive me mad!! I don't hink I could sleep knowing they could get to me...Fireflies sound beautiful though, can you bring some home with you?!?! And the Japanese monk too! Not really sure what mongooses are precisely, might have to google them.
It really puts things into perspective when ten bucks can make someone so happy, that was really nice. It makes you realise how lucky we really are-even if we aren't able to work in AU we know we can still have a roof over our head and some food in our belly. I watched the end part of a program the other night on some kids in Burma, I think affected by recent cyclones, no parents and looking after each other basically. I wanted to adopt them all!
I just had a quick look at your photos in the next entry, you are SO brown!
Take care - love Caz xo
hi philippa. sounds as if you are having a fantastic time...i envy you. photos are great. try and have a chat to the japanese monk one day. he may take you up to the temple for a visit. anthony said you were going to singapore for a few days while renewing your visa. are you still going to india on your way home. great place. try not to miss it.
tom and anthony have both been very ill with flu. dr said if they feel nauseaus (is that the correct spelling...doesnt look right but i am not getting up to check it out) to contact him immediately so i guess thats one of the symptoms of swine flu.
we had 2 weeks in the van down the south coast...not too cold but not sunny either! we called into copa on the way home for a couple of days. found a c/van park 5 mins way. the only have 4 sites but full of cabins and permanents. on the round road. very nice tho with excellent ameneties and a swimming pool. could walk into avoca...me that is not jf.
tom and john went fishing one morning and anthony and john went fishing one evening after work. both got wet from rain as well as the sea. caught one fish but let it go.
still very cold here..altho sun is just coming out. 2 to 15 degrees forcast for today.
take care love carol
Well, it seems so many people I know are off gallavanting around the world and I am still here in Sydney. Bernard (Louise Petchell's widower) is currently in Santiago doing some conference thing and then travelling around the world a bit from there...I believe he's hitting Spain and England after Chile. And you are in SL being attacked by bugs! Oh well. Sydney had it's warmest July day in 19 years on Wednesday - 25.5C! It was so beautiful...and even more special to be getting such a sunny treat right in the middle of winter. I'm so glad I was on school holidays to enjoy it. Holidays are almost over though...back to work on Monday...spewing! Hey Phip, can you get a photo of the fireflies? I would love to see them in action....I've never seen one...not even on TV! I might 'youtube' them in a second and see if I can see some! That's it from me. Keep blogging so I can live vicariously through you!
