After having a conversation with a girl in Sri Lanka we were well and truly sold on venturing up to the Bukit-Lewang on the island of Sumatra to trek in the rainforest and visit the orangutans. So as soon as we landed in Jakarta, we were on a flight up to Medan, Sumatra (well actually we had a 6 hour layover so got our first use of our sleeping bags in the airport terminal!). We landed in Medan, got a bus to a half way point where we then had to get another 'bus' to Bukit-Lewang.
