Djibouti golf course I find this blog quite offenisive. It is easy for you to write an "ironic" recount of the sand course in djibouti, but actually it is not very good taste to be critical like that. Yes you will find camels, yes there is no green and yes it is unusual. However the guys that have built and maintain it are proud and are doing a damn sight better than other peers in their country for which they should be commended rtaher than told that you can barely call it a golf course. The caddys are young local guys that make a bit of money to stay off the street, so they shold be commanded for it too. And try to develop a grass course under 40C constant heat and then let me know how you get on. Suggest you hang around on a clean florida course or where ever you are from than going around with attitude and critising other cultures for the sake of writing a funny blog!!
WELL DONE AND THANKS FOR ALL THE INFO we have a contract in Djibouti and were scouring the net for info. Was very grateful to read your blog. THanks again. Happy travels
ps what was the Bellvue hotel really like! ??? Thats where we are staying.
Are you home yet? I guess you are home by now and back into the golf fulltime again. We have loved the blog and thought you should keep it up for all your Aussie friends to keep up with you day to day. How about it? We are in Denham WA and loving the life.

home you're probably home by now, but if you're still overseas, I might suggest you be carefull and alert as I have been reading the newspaper and I am under the impression that the area of the world you are in is a little risky . be carefull. who knows where the oil they used on the putting green came from. there could be pcb's in it or something awful like that. wipe your shoes real well before you go in the house. Better yet come back to the states and play golf where the grass is healthy. concerned about your welfare, cousin dave.
What fascinating places you get to visit your two...had not heard of these blogs till Jo's came thru...great way of keeping us all informed...will wait for the next installment...enjoy
Love from Mary-Alice and Tom The pictures lookgreat with Monica in her element-- SHOPPING. We
Can't wait to meet again in sunny and Hot Homosassa. Hurry home.
CVPOA The nuts are out of the tree!! I understand that the Cypress Blvd. Irrigation plan passed. I also understand some resident[s?] threatened to sue CVPOA if it is initiated because they are not permitted to spend money on county property and the median is!! What a bunch we have!
Great golf courses Hi Moni and Phil
Loved your golf course at Douda. Have you read about the course at Elliston on our blog? Have to say this blogging is such a great way of staying in touch with everyone. Have you found the Chinese restaurant yet?
Travelblogs and Pictures We are really enjoying reading about all about your adventures and seeing the pictures. We took your mom and my mom out on St. Patricks Day for corn beef and cabbage. We all had a good time. Keep the news coming.
Got your message Dad,
I got your message last night on my home phone. I had a soccer game at 7:00pm and must have just missed your call. This Sunday my game is at 6:00pm so if you try to get a hold of me around 4:00pm I'll most likely be home then. The pictures look great!! I see you're already counting down the days;). Tracy and I did talk to Nana. All is well with her. Talk to you Sunday.
Love, Steph
Love the Blog Hi Phil and Monica,
Just wanted to let you know that I enjoy the travelblogs that you send. Makes me feel like I am almost there with you. Must admit it is probably a little cooler here. Stay well and we are looking for the next blog.
Carole and Chuck
recent addition Phil,
The place looks clean and well kept. Keep trying to load photos as its a great way for all to see what you and Monica are doing.
It looks like Christine and Chad finally sold their half of the duplex. They should move in with us on the 25th and stay until their new mansion is completed in June/July.
Take care,
Steve
Hi Dad and Monica,
I can't wait to see the pictures you post. We actually had temps in the high 80's here last week!!! Unfortunately that was short lived!!
Our walks about town Hi Guys
We have been walking about Ceduna, SA. We didn't realise it was on the coast with beautiful beaches. Have been eating oysters whilst you have been eating whoppers! Heading across the Nullarbor desert tomorrow so will be a few days before we can blog again.
Love Jo and John
Great to hear from you Greetings Phil and Monica--I love the blog and look forward to reading more about your adventures in Djibouti. All is well in Washington--the cherry blossoms are ready to make their annual appearance as I head off to Italy for several weeks (sounds rather pedestrian, doesnt it?)
Tuesday Golf Large chops today--I needed 11---made 23--Had my 11 in the first 4 holes--2 birdies in a row. Would have done better except I lost my 8 iron[ chipping iron] at the 7th hole and had to make do after that. Reese found it so all turned out fine.
Ha! I know that the story about a haircut is false because you don't have enough hair for a haircut.
Seriously, is there a golf course there? I looked on Google Earth and don't see one. Is it like the original one in Alice, sand with sand greens?
We finally had rain in our desert after 143 days of drought. It sounds like you will beat our summer temperatures though. What sort of food to they offer there? Can you eat western, or are you on a diet of goat meats and eyeballs? Hope Monica is coping with the shopping. Our love.
Welcome to the new bloggers See - it's easy isn't it? We are still in the Barossa and leaving tomorrow so will hopefully add to our blog tomorrow. Looking forward to more about Djibouti and photos.
Had my hair cut yesterday and over heard two men talking. The first said " Sure glad that Runfola is in Africa" The second said "Why"? The first said" Now I have a chance to win some money on the golf course".
