Taos Happy Birthday Debbie!
Did you get a to-go menu from Orlandos for us poor Georgians? At least we could see what we are missing....Maybe yall could get a stint on the Food TV network?
Yall be safe and know Walter and i are thinking of you both. Kathy, what is the definition of a Sante Fe redneck, btw?
Hello from Johnny's Harborside Hi ladies! Just wanted to say it was a pleasure meeting you both and I have really enjoyed reading about your trip. Driving across the country has always been a dream of mine and you have really inspired me to make it happen! Thanks for the sweet mention of me, Pat (he really does make the best bloody mary anywhere), and Johnny's...take care. All the best, Julia
where are the pictures? We would love to have pictures but we have no idea how to post them, what kind of cord to use, where to get the cord, how to use it, where it goes, we will figure this out for our next trip.

A happy journal Your descriptions are so delightful I now wish to visit the West but my vicarious trip via your blog may have to satisfy me for now. It is great to hear you both so enjoying the natural wonders of the area as well as the friendly nature of the citizens. But where are your pictures?????
I love Santa Fe. I was there several times in the early '90's . If I had time after meeting with the Eight Northern Pueblo Tribes (between Alberque. and S.Fe) I'd drive on th S. Fe. I loved the old Epis.Church tucked in old trees and the artist everywhere you turned. I worked with the Navajo out of Window Rock.. a long ride for my hotel in Alberque. There's really not much between you and the BIG BUGS in the Interstate, is there...... they must really get extra rations out there..... be safe and have fun!!!!!!! Sniggy
Birthday Girl Happy birthday, Debbie! We'll have wine to celebrate on your return. Have fun and be careful! Kathy, can't wait to see you two! We'll have to have a "Welcome Home" party! Take care!
Come see me next! I know you two are having a ball. Wish I was with you. It's in the 30's here but with the wind chill, it's 20. Snow flurries tomorrow. Be safe and have fun!
So many memories Keep writing....Your blog is bringing back so many memories of our trips out west! Several years ago we were just north of San Simeon on Hwy. 1 when we noticed rock slides in the right lane. When we got into San Simeon and checked into our hotel they told us there had just been an earth quake.
Just got back home and have printed out your blog entries for Jerry and June. Can't wait to hear all the stories in person. Stay safe.
You really have had a great stay.. with Kathy's brother able to get his own room beeing the highlite since the surgery. WHen we were there, Mike used to run17 mile drive.
AT the time we were there,First half or 1984, Kim Knovak ,an actress married to a vet., lived along the drive and Frankie Avalon lived on a hill there with his family. Some of the guys would pass him when both were on a run. That life seems mystical to me................ I think that I'd like the fact that most people let you be yourself, and for the most part feel that your business is your own. We live in a place that is mystical to others............. it is kinda like the grass is alwasys greener.
Please don't make the mistake that most people make on the return trip after a great "get a way". ENJOY!!! The trip is NOT OVER UNTIL YOU AND KATHYSAY IT IS................ and that's when you decided............... can't wait to hear about it over a couple of glasses of wine......... love,Sniggy.................. drive carefully and stop for the night when you are tired.............................
Carry On! Just found your travel blog this morning. Good stuff! Great job!
I feel like I've been along on your journey!
May you have many more safe and memorable miles ahead!
I haven't thought about the Half Moon Bay festival in years. That was one of my favorite and most successful faires. I anxiously awaited the next year as I packed up each year.
Wonderful that Wayne's surgery was a success and he is well on the road to recovery.

Do you think there is room in pearl to fit a six pack of Fat Tire?
Wait, maybe not with all those hanging bags and quarters i've
been hearing about. Drive safe.
I hope that you had FUN in Carmel..... The high lite of one of our trips there was when we stop for a drink at THE BOARS HEAD.. owned my Clint Eastwood and he came in and spoke with us.......... Oh no, there weas no class in my reaction to seeing him. (public drooling never is). love you both.. We off to hear Three Dog Night and the Augusta Symphony..... Sniggy
Have fun Gee, I'm glad Wayne's surgery is behind him and it went well. All that talk of food and wine makes me want to be there. Keep us posted each day. I'm enjoying the blog!

Glad to hear y'all are well Caught up on the blog this a.m. Just wanted to let you know that I have massive quantities of photos of the desert from Briarwood road trip to Grand Canyon--I'll be glad to share. Are all the quarters gone yet?!?
Monterey Mike and I had 12 weeks in Monterey while attending the DOD Language school in 1984. He had to pry me away from the area. I could have spent a lifetime there. If you have time I hope that you and go to CARMEL, and to some of the small artist studio's in the valley........ .... also Cannery Row is (was) a wonderful place to enjoy a different, but fun, way of life.......................
We're taking Pearl across the country. Who is Pearl? Our trusty car....to and from Washington, Georgia to Monterey CA....two gals loving life...and appreciating this great country!... full info
