Report from Florence Reading about all that good ice cream reminds me to put ice cream on our shopping list for today! It may not be Italian, but it will be good. It is fun to get out into the countryside after being mostly in cities, isn't it? After visiting you all in Paris, I almost needed sunglasses it is so bright GREEN here. Love, Gran
patsy in spring Thanks for the update patsy. It is always good to hear what you like and don't like about the places you visit. Did you happen to see anyother purple cows in the country side? I love moo- Auntie TT
Ice cream Okay, Patsy, the ice cream will probably get us back to Italy one of these days! Chocolate, cinnamon, and caramel--too good to be true! Great pictures of you and your guests! Glad to know the value of the Euro at the moment--thank you! Love, Louisa and Paul
glad to Patsy again Dear Patsy, I am glad to read about your impressions and opinions of Florence. Sounds like a good place for purple cows and people too. Can't wait to hear about what you think about Paris. xoxo Mom
Gerald the Great Blue Heron Patsy,
Gerald the Great Blue Heron showed up at the farm today, tapping on my window in Morse Code. He said that his friend Frederick has been trying to tap out a message for you in Istanbul. Here's the message: "Have lots of fun, but come home soon." We miss you.
Love, Joyce
Istanbul Istanbul sounds like a very interesting place to visit! Having your own room is very nice, I'm sure. The food always sounds very good. You try so many different types! The mosques bring back memories of when I was Ella's age in Lahore, Pakistan. We are glad you are having fun, except for the seasick part! Love, Louisa and Paul
Istanbul Loved your thoughts on Istanbul. You make it sound like such a fun place to visit. I would love to follow in your footsteps some day. Continue to enjoy your wonderful travels. Love, Doris
Patsy's blog It is fun to hear about Istanbul from Patsy! And the sea gull who comes to the window reminds me of the birds who often come and fly into ours, because they can see themselves and think it is a rival. The food made me hungry, and it is noon--so maybe I'll eat lunch. Love from Gran
Amazing! Patsy,
I am so amazed by all the wonderful places you have been and the experiences you are having. You are doing a wonderful job of describing your adventures. Tell Ella that that she looks much older than when she left. I think she has grown up a lot through her travels. Tell her I miss her and think of her often and that I get updates through her cousin Joy.
Thanks so much for sharing with those of us back in the States. I love being able to experience the places you have seen through your writing and pictures.
Lots of love,
Ms. S :)
Bangkok Ella and Patsy,
I haven't really commented but have read all your blogs
and really enjoyed them.
I went to school in India with someone from Bangkok.
Marian forwards all the blogs to me.
Shanghai and construction Hello Patsy, We have missed hearing from you lately! I like your expression, "Nothing is not under construction," in Shanghai. Sorry that affected your sleep, however. Since Shanghai is where Momo and Grandaddy lived, I am sorry that it is not as fun to visit as some of the other places. The pandas had to be fun to see! Your e-mails make me hungry. Good for you becoming a chop stick expert! We still have snow. Love, Louisa and Paul
Shanghai and Hangzhou It was fun to read about the two cities, see so many pictures of the pandas and Jaozi. The jaozi blogs and pictures always make me hungry! I'm sure you're glad to be away from Shanghai construction. Lots of love, Gran
Beijing Patsy, you must be having the time of your life. Everything appears to be such fun except the cold. I'm not a lover of being cold, so the weather would be hard for me. The scoobering looks like great fun, and I guess it has to be cold for that. I think I have had churros here in the USA....maybe at a festival.....and they were indeed yummy. Love to all, Doris
Holy Steps Batman! I have always, always wanted to see the Great Wall. I can't wait to hear more when you get back. Can't wait to show friends in Wisconsin a new way to enjoy the frozen lakes! I thought we had thought of everything. Signing off from a very chilly North Carolina.
Patsy in Beijing The Chinese dumplings made me hungry! Snow scenes and discription were great, but it has been so cold that I'm not interested in going to a snowy place right now. Patsy is definitely seeing the world!
snow Ice scoobering really sounds fun! I like the people dancing in the park without music also! We like churros! I do believe I would like Beijing! We still have cold and snow here also! Happy Birthday May! Love, Louisa and Paul
Enjoyed having Patsy's version of Hong Kong. I'll bet she was the cutest cow there. And when you are little (like a purple cow), crowds can be annoying or downright intimidating. Did you get the feeling that Hong Kong is that crowded ALL the time, or might a lot of people from Asia go there at Christmas time because schools are not in session? The Beijing snow is in the news here.
Hong Kong malls Hello Patsy, I do believe all of those spiral staircases in the Hong Kong malls would make me very dizzy and I might even get lost! Hong Kong Disney sounded like a lot of fun! I don't think I realized the metro went uner the water between the islands! It sounds like Ella will not forget her 11th birthday! My 11th birthday was on the top of Mount Pisgah! We are back from a fun and thankfully healthy time in Memphis. Went to St. Louis for two days and enjoyed the Science Museum there also! Love to you and Ella, Louisa and Paul
Where's Ella's body? Dear Patsy,
I hope Ella is more than just a head -- that would be scary. But at least she could still eat pizza with you. I'm glad you enjoyed Hong Kong and I hope you aren't too covered in snow in China. We miss you here at the farm.
Happy New Year!
Joyce
Happy New Year! Hi Patsy,
What an adventures you're having... It must be amazing to be able to meet so many other animals, being a cow. I don't know if they all speak 'cow', but maybe you can even talk to them? Probably, seeing a purple cow is as odd for them as all the things you see. I'm glad to see (read) that all your family members are having such a great time travelling around in that amazing continent. Wish them all a happy new year from my part and a safe continuation of the trip!
Sofie
It was fun to read Patsy's comments in Chaing Mai. Nice to have pictures of your home cooked food and the sofa in your apartment! And even a side shot of one of the princess doggies. The baby panda was a lot bigger than I had pictured in my mind. Those zoo helpers had to heist a load! I imagine that cows don't like curry--it must not taste at all like grass or hay! I'll join Nana in an early Happy Birthday to Ella. Lots of love to each of you, Gran
Happy Birthday to Ella! Hi, Purple Cow, thanks for sharing your adventures in Chaing Mai. It seems there is a universal love for reading. I know you and Ella love having a library close by. I am happy Ella found some dogs to love. She has a passion for books and dogs! I am thinking about Ella as her birthday gets closer. I know you will help her have a special birthday. I doubt she will ever forget this birthday. Tell Ella I love her so much and will be thinking about her on the 18th. I keep Ella, Jordan, May, and Paul in my heart at all times and wish them much happiness during their travel time together. Nana
