home is sweet spamela, nothing like home is there. Your photos are wonderful, you look just like you did in '94. :) Great to hear that contemplation was on the menu, always a pleasure to read your thoughts. Stay in touch. mjd
you have your work cut out for you! hi, I don't have a phone right now, am at a hostel, but am moving tomorrow to somewhere cheaper. If there's a ph there, I'll let you know. Would love to catch up!
:( let me know where you are and I will call you. Might be nice to hear a friendly voice on the line. Maybe I can make up for the lousy experience you have had. matt 0448 124 552
sick in Sydney Hey Matty,
It's hard for me to call, but I'll be in Sydney until the 5th of Sept, unless i can get out on an earlier flight. I've caught the swine flu so I am not able to fly until the 2nd...should be feeling better in a few days though, so if you will be here, let me know for sure.

Amazing Are you a writer?? Your story is great and we feel very flattered of your comments. It was the best moment of the trip for us. We have already arrived to Barcelona, and Halong's Bay trip was the best in 18 days! We hope we can be in touch in the future. Have a nice holiday in Australia!
throw another shrimp on the barbie hey, welcome back.
I wont be heading to sydney until after the 14th, which is a spew. It would be great if we had a chat, call my mobile ( or as you call them "cell phones", how quant) 0448 124 552. The number may look odd to you, however it will work. Its 9.35am, melbourne time, wet (rain!) and i need an overpriced coffee. Speak soon, cobber. Matt
Who overtook your blog? You are clearly not the real PS, since she has a ridiculously deep tan and has forgotten how to form the word "working girl" in her brain, much less her mouth.
zing! Hi Miranda, So glad you found me!!!
I didn't forget!!! You'll have to read my most recent post. I just had so much to say and so little time online...my shout out to you guys got re-positioned on my blog-priority-list. But still really, really appreciated all of your help.
Hope you all are having a great trip. Where are you and what are you doing?
Cheers,
Pam

Ya know, I distinctly remember you saying that you would dediate your next blog to us for letting you use our laptop.....didnt see any of that dedication in yur last entry, lol. Anyway, hope you two are having a great time! 3 of the 4 of us just finished our advanced diving license in Thailand (on Koh Tao) so we would lobe to hear about your diving experience there in Malaysia!! Miranda
meat stick melissa I am very sad that I am miss MSM month. :(
Great comments, you are totally right! It's weird, there's so much going on in the world and so many people with differing priorities all coexisting at the same moment. Glad I can share it with you just a smidge.

wow! Yes, totally in the same place, Kecil. It's still teeny-tiny and very basic. Probably more built up than when you were here.
You gonna make it up to Sydney? I arrive on the 18th...
Hope you're well.
Alternate Universe Enjoying your posts, Pam. Traveling like this really is an alternate parallel universe. Maybe less so now that the internet is so prevalent. I love reading about your adventures as it really just puts life in perspective. I mean, I spend all day long (and evening, apparently) in front of a computer, doing this somewhat meaningless tasks, pushing bytes around, talking to people on the phone to make virtual stuff happen. Meanwhile, in a completely different dimension, you are negotiating all sorts of amazing and perhaps equally inconsequential (or not) interactions. Woah. That was way deeper than I intended. Anyhow, safe travels to you. You're missing all of Meat Stick Melissa Month on the calendar, btw.
Perhentian Kecil wow, we were there too! great place, well it was in '97. clear water, great roti and great mars shakes. Food! on the beach. We stayed on the non-populated side of the island - a short walk through the bushto "the busy side". Very fond memories of that side - our hut was just that, no water, intermittent power. And loved it. And muesli was always out of stock. Enjoy. :).
Market Check out the market in PP, well, pick one, they are all good, we were there in '97. Still dirt roads and all that? great travelling, try the foreign correspondents club for a gin and tonic. have fun. :)
exactl6y Yep, can't do crap w/o an ATM card here. was mostly worried about Malaysia, where there isn't even an ATM, so if my card wasn't working, there would have been major issues.
Next bubbles will be for you.

Ah Cambodia Just as I remember it. W/o a working Wells Fargo card you can't get the local currency dispensed from the ATM. US Dollars... I had to look pretty hard to find some Cambodian currency. Too funny. Doesn't sound like you got to Sihanoukville (sp??) on the coast.
Blow some bubbles for me.

went to Samui Sense ...per your recommendation for our last night in Thailand. To each his own, but I found it to be totally over-priced and not that great. The room was nice but too many unnecessary amenities (hair dryer, giant tv, etc) and NO windows. How do you build a hotel right on the beach with no windows? Glad I was only there 1 night and glad I didn't change any other plans to go there. Jungle Lodge MUCH better and half the price. Didn't eat at Will Wait, ate at hotel which also was overpriced ($60 for our meal) and the fish was terrible, totally dried out. Left a bad impression overall.
