It is such a pleasure for us to see the two of you traveling, traveling, traveling. We will be spending our Christmas at Tahoe in the snow with the whole family. Merry Christmas wherever you will be.
names of places in El Nido Thanks for the photos taken in El Nido. Just to correct spellings/names of the places shown in your blog, the captions with names of places such as Corong, its actually in Corong-corong, a village or a barangay in El Nido and the other one is Bancuit Bay, it should be Bacuit Bay (that is no "n").
Thanks.

There's a Book in You, Kev! Once again, I started to read just a little and got totally glued to the page, scrolling down and reading the whole thing with avid interest. Great commentary, very loose and natural style, nice factoids about the population, density, food, etc. Kevin, you should really compile your Paca Waca blogs into a book! Your writing picks me up out of my seat and transports me to your latest travel adventures! Thanks! And can't wait to see you guys again. Safe Travels and Welcome Home!
Do come this way again. Yes, you have to cover Borneo next time. Totally different from KL, so exotic. And try out the durian. This fruit beat Andrew Zimmern, the NY chef who goes all over the world and eats anything except the durian. He spitted the durian out of his mouth in a durian farm in Penang on his TV show. :)
Enjoying your travel log... I think you've got a shot at another career writing travel logs, Kevin! I've really enjoyed reading about the accommodations, the people you've met, the social, political and geographical observations and, of course, the diving evaluations. It seems you and Karen are really adaptable and have learned to give things a shot before judging them. Love the photos, too. Miss you guys and look forward to seeing you when you return. In the meantime, keep writing and posting the blogs so I can live vicariously through you!!! Peace, Chris
Apo Island Adventure I must say you two are quite the adventurous, intrepid travelers! Bucket washes, limited electricity, cozy lodgings and great diving - that's what it's all about. Continue to be safe and have fun. We look forward to your return and the many tall tales or daring do.

Hey Paca-Waca So many great adventures and stories! Enjoy that San Miguel beer! Weather has been fairly nice here with temps earlier in the week near 60. Stay safe and healthy and have FUN!! Happy VD Day!!
Great Pics Your picture quality is fantastic. How are you two doing? Chinese New Year looks beautiful? Having good weather? Any issues with health? Wishing you the best!!

You both look happy! Looks like the both of you are having a great time. Karen is hanging onto elephants trunks which looks like a giant penis and Kevin's hand is around the gong, which looks like a giant nipple. Travel safe and talk to you soon!
Too much fun! Looks like you're having a great time. How's the food? Spent two weeks in your home town. - 18 degrees! How do people live like that and why? Take care; hope to see you guys this summer when its warmer in Chicago. B
Hey hey! Always look forward to your blogs! Sounds like a lot of heavy lifting over there! I just saw Jaws recently so watch out around those sharks! As far as that cab ride scam, they just did that to us in Austin, TX with a meter! Cabbies are cabbies, no matter where you may be! I miss your gong!
Nice to hear from you It's funny, last night I met a girl who just returned from Thailand after a year and a half there. I told her about you guys being there. She asked me what city you were in. The only thing I could remember was somthing like "fuckit" as I couldn't pronounce anything else.
Whal sharks and the Superbowl Sounds like you are really getting into the culture over there. AND the whale sharks sound cool. DId you get any shark teeth? Oh, and by the way, he returned a kickoff, not a punt, in the Superbowl. HeHeHe!
Finally!!! Hey, you guys. Great blog. Have a much better understanding of what things are like there and how it is going. Good to hear everything is going well. Catch you soon.
Patrick
Well done! All sounds great and you seem to be adjusting to the new surroundings well. Glad no bombs impacted your visit. Sorry the water visibility is not as good as expected for your dives. What do the locals drink in the way of alcohol? What's the weather like? Do they measure temperature in C or F? How the US dollar compard to the local currency? Keep on having a great and SAFE time!
Marco
your blog I finally had a moment to catch up on all of your entries. Sounds like a great journey! I think you two should consider trying to get on The Amazing Race. Can't wait to read the next installment.
We've been seeking the elusive paca waca for a few years now and are continuing our Southeast Asia quest this winter. The plan is to spend 2 months in the Philippines touring and diving, then move on to Malaysia. We may or may not dive in Malaysia depending on whether we can find reasonable accommodations in Mobul and get permits to dive in Sipidan. Otherwise we will probably tour peninsular Malaysia for about 20 days. We have a flight home on April 20 from KL.
From our 2006 trip.
Our current plan is to leave for Bangkok via Seoul (12 hour layover) on December 26 2006. All we have p... full info
