x-mas fun Hey guys!! I went with Justin and Mer down to Pipers and celebrated Christmas. I got vicki her favorite beverage, and I got Dennis a whole rabbit. We found a picture of Dennis rabbit hunting in the eighties and taped it to the rabbit. Dennis had fun making the rabit 'run'.
We missed you, and toasted to you guys a few times. :)
Chad was impressed with Merediths tree on Christmas day. Thankx Nate Dogg. Anyway, I am working on my January work sample, have fun. Lukie!!! Fix those feet! Lindsay!!! Stay away from too many UV rays:)
Christmas Carol
Happy Xmas Merry Chrismas Lindsay and Lucas. Sounds like things were fun last night. Minus the burn incident. Lucas I hope your foot is feeling better. Go see a doctor if it starts to blister. That means it's pretty serious. Mom and dad went to church and left me behind. We had french toast this morning for Christmas breakfast. Wish you were here. Have a great Christmas day. Love always, Andrea
Merry Christmas
THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS
by Clement Clarke Moore
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."
Merry Christmas!
Hello, Lindsay B... Lindsay,
Gloria gave me the address to your blog tonight. What a treat it has been to read about your travels! I have missed your smiling face and wonderful wit. You have always been such a special person in Lori's life - and in mine also. I will never forget all the days, picking you up at your house and taking the two of you to school. I will pray for your safety and happiness, Lindsay. Have a wonderful time and know that I have thought of you often. You will always have two families. All the best to you and Lucas. Safe travels and God bless.
Jim
ya loobloo vwi=i love you You guys are in heaven. I'm just a little jealous. I also agree that Lindsay you are an angel, but I do not agree that Lucas you are a pig. When I was in Costa Rica I stayed in Quepos. I loved it. There are mountains, the amazing Manuel Antonio rainforest and yes monkeys and three toed sloths. Have fun, think of me...I'm still seriously considering quitting the PC and coming to Costa Rica. Can I use Dempsey? Love you and miss you both :)
still playing nickel arcades hey caroline, here's a nickel, you should go downtown and . . ., i think lindsay knows what to do from here. where are all the pics of dancing with the opposite sex, you know, temptation island style?
welcome to the age of technology! I GOT THE INTERNET TODAY!!, and then my car broke down. Hey, you can't win em all. PEACE.
ps- I am going with Mer and Justin to the Pipers for christmas!!! (not on the actual day though) Merry christmas!
Just kidding The old saying is proven true once again ... never do a film with a puppy because you'll always get upstaged. And apparently such is the fate of senor Lucas, the man in the tree. One of the best pictures of the trip so far...confident, strong, pensive, native, watching as life goes by like a river.
Yet as life passes it may also settle in, like a puppy in our lap. What a warm, sensitive, and personal picture. If these two photos are any indication, you two are having a very enriching experience....
Take care.
hey guys! The pictures are gorgeous. It's gonna be a shocker when you get back into a city.
Finals are over, and I get to start working on the first unit I will teach in January!!!
Does Tucca fit in Lindsay's backpack? :)
Badeep Badeep Badeep That's all folks!
Missing you in Corvallis... :( Lindsay, that puppy is so cute. Sounds like things are going good for the both of you. Chris and Brian are coming to visit in Jan. And you're not going to be here. Sad day. I'll send you an email soon with some recommendations from a friend on places to visit in Central America. I'm must go now, bye.
a man a plan a canal Panama = palendrome HEY!!! Your trip looks amazing. I wish I could come down and meet you guys over christmas break!
GUESS WHAT!!!?
I taught today! I designed an assignment for Catcher in the Rye and taught it. My students loved it and it stimulated great conversation. I had my freshman discussing conformity, whether one has a responsibility to follow the system in order to change it from the inside, or is it ok to just not conform and go live in the woods. IT WAS GREAT! It's so fun to get these kids thinking about these things!!!
I miss you both, can't wait for you to come back, but also kinda wish I could just come to where you are.
Caroline
Cute pics I agree, your pictures are really good and the explanations you give are great too! Good job guys. Oh and Lindsay, check you email I sent you a message. I've turned domestic, I, Andrea Bleifus, didn't ask for clothes or my usual money for Christmas. This year I asked for a vacuum. A Vacuum you say? Yes I, am turning into a domesticated house wife who asks for praticle things for Christmas. What has become of me? Next year who knows, maybe I'll ask for a mixer. So kids, what do you two want for Christmas? Well i must go, the real world starts soon. Missing you lots and lots. --andrea
Paddling through the internet I looked up the Bocas del Toro region and it is really beautiful. I can see why you're impressed. Lots of native villages along with towns with nice waterfront tourist hotels (for your next trip). Some fun looking in the water restaurants/bars. Thanks for staying in touch. Look forward to the pictures. E
PG hello. Hey guys. i just left my first comment and it said it would be reviewed. i wanted to leave another hello in case the first one didn't get through due to content. I wish i could be there. it's 10 degrees and snowing in chicago. you have fun, be safe, and wear lotion now, ya hear. i am working in a bar, playing in a band that will never replace the heights of which the "Deleted Scenes" soared, and acting in a comedy group. all is well. much love to you. i'll see you in mid febuary.
hey you crazy kids hey guys. sorry i havn't been leavin messages, but i've been keeping up with your travels and wish i could be there. i sent an email to lucas. not sure if he got it. anyways it sounds like you guys have found a perfect alternative to the humdrum workabilly weekend silliness of the states. chicago is startin to feel more like home, allthough i miss you and the other eugeners very much. lucas, you and me still have a date with a hamock. lindsay, you can watch. and then we can have some pancakes. i'll see you guys in mid february. much love. also if caroline reads this, hey you crazy bitch. give me a call.
