Old Green Pike

Hey everyone, I've now reached Vientiane the capital of Lao where I'm hoping to chill out for a couple of days before heading down south and crossing the border into Cambodia stopping in a couple of places on the way if I've time allows. Since the last blog from Chiang Mai I caught a bus to Tha Ton where I hopped on a long tail boat which took me down river to Chiang Rai, from there I headed to the Chiang Khong on the border with Lao crossed over to Hauy Xai where I caught the 2 day slow boat which took me to Lauang Prabang with a stopover in Pak beng. Well after Moscow we all hopped onto the train for our journey to Irkutsk and Lake Baikal. At this point no body really knew each other that well as we'd only just met the day before but that was soon to change. We soon discovered some people are better able to cope with 4 straight days on the train then others, by the end of the journey some people were ready to blow, it didn't help that one of the train addendants was a mini hitler who liked to shout at everybody, for some reason he really didn't like Ed serenading him with Queen half way through the journey.
