welcome home Dianne
Welcome home!. I have been following your blogs and living vicariously through you. Your trip sounded wonderful. Florida living sounds good. All is well here. I took a new job. It is still with the Eddy but they they have just created a brand new position. It will be a liason working in several md's office. I am going to be the guinea pig. I am a little nervous but excited for the change. Keep in touch. So glad you had a good trip.

Database for accessability? Hey Louise;
Thanks for the response. I hope you are doing well and really like your idea. Would some kind of database with accessibility rankings work? Maybe something like google maps with different popups that show other nearby services? I think recruiting other people with similar problems to get there input would be great. Do you know of any websites where we might recruit people who might want to include what they know about specific areas?
Thanks
Bruce
Business Hi, Bruce,
I really have no great ideas for an on-line business, but I certainly can pray that you find what you need. I do have one suggestion, though:
As a person with a disability, I am acutely aware of the problems involved in traveling. For example, if I were to try to go to Pittsfield, Massachusetts (my hometown), I would need to know what facilities in town were accessible, is public transportation available, what costs would be involved?
Getting all this information could take a whole day, and then I could still get over to Pittsfield and find out that the restaurant. I plan to go to has three steps out in front. If my wheelchair breaks down, where can I get it fixed? The biggest problem I run into is trying to find accurate and up-to-date information. With all your travel experience, perhaps, you can help the many people with disabilities would like to travel.
I'll keep thinking.
Peace,
Louise
Thanks for sharing! Hi, Dianne,
Wish I could have been with you-especially at the elephant park. Since I'm getting nowhere with VESID on help for a new van, could I adopt an elephant?
Where are you going next?
Hello to Saskia.
Peace,
Louise
Wow! Cooking! When you get back the real world, I'd love to try some of your Thai cooking. Also, VESID is still giving me grief about help with transportation, so please check out the elephant transport for me. Do they do well in snow? We had about 6 inches last night and expect upwards of 20 inches tonight. Enjoy the tropical weather while you can!
Thanks for letting me share this adventure with you!
Peace,
Louise
Wonderful Adventure! Hi, Dianne and Saskia! I am loving reading your blog....SO many amazing experiences! I think I would love to ride an elephant! Swimming with them...might be scary! They are so big! Your little hut looked wonderful (altho, just like camping!) and I can see how you wouldn't want to leave!
One question (as we are leaving on March 10 for Nepal!) Do you have to purify all of your water? If yes, what are you using and how is it working? If you don't get a chance to answer, we will understand!
Happy travels and it will be so much fun to catch up when we see each other next! Love, Linda and Lee
Awesome Hi Guys, All I can say is what an adventure I wish I was there. It's so special that you are doing it together something you will never forget. Can't wait to see you though it won't be long. Love Mum
Wonderful blog! Hi, Dianne! It was so much fun to read your blog about Thailand! We have a good friend who is Thai and she sends gorgeous pictures every time she goes to visit her family. Lee and I are getting ready for our three week (not nearly long enough!) trip to Nepal on March 10....I think we will be completely "immersed in another culture"...BIG TIME!!! I am looking forward to it hugely but am a little nervous...we will be trekking for eight days in places with no running water or electricity...those squat toilets will probably be luxury!
Travel is amazing and it is so incredible for your family to be doing all this! Love lots and keep those blogs coming! =)
Bangkok - Wow! Hi Dianne,
You and Saskia have got to be two of the luckiest people in the world. The trip of a lifetime! I enjoy sharing your adventures very much.
Keep well & get home safely.
Louise
Thailand Your description of your new adventure in Bangkok brings back fond memories of being in Thailand with friends. And thank goodness for having someone there to guide you and who is familiar with the language, the money system and local customs. You're correct in saying "you've got to go" - It's truly a magical place and the people are so respectful and peaceful (despite the civil unrest of last year).
Thanks for the memories!
Sounds so incredible! We miss you all something aweful. All is well here...Doug is back in school and so the stress begins again. Saskia....did you get the job in Monte Carlo? I need to plan my next vacation.
Great Shots I'm happy that a family will reunite once again after a long time. By the way I love your pictures. Someday I'll visit those places! Best wishes to you and your family.
