Fantastic! :) I sent extracts of this blog to my boyfriend, while he was at work, and now he is in the process of reading all Bobs blogs. :) He says, it would be criminal if Bob does not become a famous writer.
Greeeat Pic. It has been a long time since my families left Laos. I love your pictures. It brought back a lot of wonderful memories of my childhood. I hope one day to visit again.

A man after my own heart... Fortunately you have a category all to yourself... The Entertainer. Hopefully you write them to make people laugh. at least I hope so, as if you were trying to make folks miserable you've failed utterly!
Couldn't agree more about the bloody diarists... one girl has put out 32 blogs this month, and we've still a week to go! I don't know what's sadder, her writing them or me counting them!
Bah Humbug!
Here's hoping you're less of a miserable old git in real life than me!
Anyway, Merry Xmas! Hope you'll be back blogging in 2010!
Fortunately I've got another 60 of your back-catalogue to get through in the meantime.
Cheers,
Andy.
i loved reading that hehe made me laugh, i would have been absolutely crapping myself especially as I would have been on my own eurgggh. Congratulations on still being alive :)
Kudos Well written. Long blog indeed, but still was a pretty interesting read. Pretty unfortunate that you experienced only the shortcomings of India. Reading your blog, I myself would never invite anyone of my friends living from other countries to visit.
thank you bob what an amazing journey you and vik have taken. it's been a real pleasure for me to be able to follow it. i sincerely hope this is not your last entry.
i've read many travelblogs on here and i've to say your's is the best. if not, definitely the funniest. take care.
Dont fancy it ! Very graphic and decided not on India this year! You must be home now, still adjusting? Now then - time to pull all your blogs together and get them published. Kind regards and big THANKYOU for all your efforts. From Mr and Mrs Munkey x
Vietnam?Shall we go? Contemplating hols in Vietnam this year so tracked down your blog:little worried by your experiences but a damn good gripping read!Thank goodness you both survived this nasty experience.Regards, Mrs Munkey
hi, just discovered your blog while reading donna and neil's. loving you guys work so far!
i'm chinese myself so i can say with some authority that they're "husband and wife". male around 45, female about 35. fact.
ROFL
Excellent blog. :D
Love the photo captions too. And the photos themselves capture the clean and shiney aspects of India, because you didnt look down while taking them, I suppose. ;)
Friend,
It seems that you don't have much respect for India and it's incredible glory, just because literacy rate is less here doesn't mean India is having bad things all around. Try to go to the great Nanda Devi Wild Life Park, Gulmarg, Leh-Laddakh, Goa, Kerala, Jim Corbett National Park, Kausani and other unlimited places to see it's glory image. Unfortunately the states you visited mostly do not have much literacy rate.
Try to look at nice angle too.
Thanks and Regards
Years of staring at maps, debating routes, saving money and boring anyone in earshot with constantly changing plans finally culminated in our D-Day. 28th August 2006. The day that Vik and Bob went global.
Having made it to New Zealand without taking a single flight, we reached the conclusion that neither our finances nor our sea legs could stomach another container ship journey so we've cheated and taken a flight from New Zealand to Bangkok. From Bangkok we hope to stick with the overland theme and take a route home through Southern Asia: China, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey...
