I think it all started when I was a kid and my grandma lived by the airport in Shreveport, LA, and from time to time she would take us to the airport to watch the planes come and go. I also remember my first flight, I was about 11 or 12, and remember getting in my best suit to fly a turbo prop from I think Dallas to Shreveport with a stop in Texarkana, TX. I remember for sure the sound those props made as it wound up and pushed us down the runway. I also remember my first education to the miracle of flight, sticking my hand out the back window of the car and cupping my hand and it would raise my arm up in the air. It was magical.
