10 Bucks for food!!!! It all sounds wonderful and fun. When I saw the 10 bucks for food I have to say I was jealous. We went to the zoo ( yes our permanent home away form home) and it cost us 8.50 for two ice-creams! Geez Louise. Can't wait to hear about the further adventures of J and N!
Lunch.. Didn't we have that luch at "Woodstock?".... In Law enforcement, we always taught people when crossing a roadway the following... "Look both ways, close your eyes, run like hell, and scream like you've never screamed before...."
Look after yuselves guy, have fun and be safe..
Love

double agree, but... as locals we really need to slow down our rushed daily routines and pause for appreciating our city
thank you so much norma and john, for coming and coming again, with goodies and nice eyes finding the beauties...
interesting I went to Beijing twice.I also felt transportation is not very convinient but because it's a big and historical city.It can be understood. It is very interesting as you said ,especailly you describe millions of peasants. In my mind,I have a picture. It's funny.I also love Beijing especailly the old traditional things.I hope 2008 if I have time I can go there. At that time,I think it will change a lot. I hope I can see that change as soon as possible. Also its transportation will become better.

What a great trip!!! Hi Guys, Stuart and I have really enjoyed reading your journals. We feel like we're right there with you. Norma you're going to need another holiday when you get back. I can' believe how many interesting and exciting places you have visited. Norma, does this mean another slide show-like Italy. Enjoy the rest of your holiday and we'll see you soon.

Sheltered Life It sounds like you're having an incredible time. I just finished reading all your entries and it sounds fabulous. I have been doing nothing but packing so your adventure sounds like a story book. Enjoy!
Wow! I have finally gotten online to read your blogs! It sounds like you are having an amazing time! I will be thinking of you as I hit the zoo for the tenth time this summer. My own little around the world trip! Can't wait to see some of the pictures of these places you are visiting.
Heaven If the world has heaven,I think Xiamen is a real place for this name.As Norma's said, the environment is very nice,The only thing is the traffic,The taxis driver are very crazy. If you like stimulant things, this is a good opportunity to test,by the way,If you can drive the car in Xiamen street and don't have any accident,I guarantee you will become the winner in The F1 Car Sport,HeHe!
Xiamen is famous of a lot of things.
First,Food. There are The Spring Roll,Peatnut Soup,Xiamen Moodle,Oyster Cookie,Xiamen Shaca Mian, and variant sea food. The feature of food is you can eat as many as you can and you still can keep your good shape,If you do not believe, you can ask and visit John,That is a proud proof.
The second, you do not feel lonely in Xiamen, not only we have a huge population, but also there are a lot of people are learning English,We are greedy to speak English with the people who can speak native English.
The thrid, this is a good place to take photo,WWW.XIAMEN.GOV.CN this is the webside about xiamen, you can find out by youself. The picture you can understand, don't worry about the chinese.
The forth,En....If everything I have already told to you,It is not good for you, because you are already known about Xiamen, you do not want to visit, the best way is leave some to found by youself.
EN...TODAY IS A NICE DAY! why today is a nice day?because I have time to read Norma and John's travel aritist,by the way, there also a big pity! there are a lot of words I can't understand.I just remenber one thing in Shanghai, everything is very expensive!Last time I visted there,I didn't buy anything, just took many pictures!
Oh,Norma and John, how is everything?I didn't have any news from you, maybe no new is a good new!welcome come back to Xiamen,I will waiting for you any time!
If you couldn't understand, you can phone me to find out!Haha
Thank for putting us on your list. What a great idea...beats postcards...hope you have a wonderful time...looking foward to hearing all about it.
First time I've every been on a Blog!!!!
Make sure J B carries the heavy bags!!!!
I agree Several places you wrote in Xiamen are the best resorts.they have a certain histories in Xiamen. So I think this time you have known something about Xiamen. But there are still some interesting places in Xiamen.Although they are not famous, they are a part of Xiamen's cultures for example Xiamen's old streets and festivals. This time you visited some.I believe next time you will see more. You will know more about Xiamen and China including people
Xiamen is your second home Hi JOHN AND NORMA,
Thank you for describing so much about xiamen's scenery.I am very proud of xiamen now, although I am from Fuzhou.
You are so impressionable and knowledgeable that I can know some words in your article. Some are new words for me.
You should come to China again 3 Years later. And Find a job in Xiamen.and travel through the whole China .ENJOY your life with dear John.Hope to see you again.keep touch!
HK Envy I have only one memory of HK and that is of sitting on the runway at the airport during a lightening storm. We were grounded due to weather on our way home from Bangkok. Looking at the city skyline in the storm I decided I would be back one day,.. sigh! Not yet! I just love those crowded, bustling, busy, high energy big cities! They totally energize me. Sounds like you are having a great time already! Enjoy the rest and keep writing, this is cool!
Our previous trip to China left us wanted to experience more. This year we'll visit the province of Yunnan in the south west, bordering Tibet and Myanmar. Please join us for China Part 2.... full info
