wet camera Nila, didn't you learn the first time you got your camera wet? I hope you had a dry bag! You are uncoordinated and this was putting your camera under serious risk!! haha. I guess you're almost home anyway though.... see you soon! :)
You saw Patrick Stewart in a play that's awesome!...Sean Connery would have been better, but Stewart is the second best British actor in my opinion. Sounds like you're having a lot of fun, we miss you at Sheridans :-)
Dave
Hahahahahha. I love the Louvre pictures! Whatever bird pooped on you must have been saving up - you look like you got it pretty bad! Okay, now I have to go back to freaking out about my intern presentation tomorrow. Bye byes!
The world was created for the sake of the Church JMJ - IHM - Wow Nila! I love hearing about your trip, especially Rome. What a gift this trip is for you. God is so good! I hope you continue to have a great time and I look forward to catching up when you get back. The tomb of JPII the Great and the current Holy Father rock my socks off. You're so cool. Tell Nate hi from Nate. Ave Maria!
Rememerances! Hi Darlin!
The pigeon is saying, "bombadier to pilot -- bombs away!" Brings back an incindent when I was with Hanna at a beach in Jersey on the Atlantic and -- yeah -- birds don't discriminate -- poor Hanna -- 2 years old and "bombed on"! Because of that -- the trip has ALWAYS brought forth fond memories.
Your postings have been so "visual" -- It's like being there -- even down to rubbing my tummy and saying "yum" after those luscious desserts.
This "magic experience" will soon be over -- but -- the memories will live on -- and the bird incident will make the trip more memorable!
I'll be seeing you in 2 weeks -- !!
My luv and His Blessings, Grams <
I remember really long horn things from our going away party in Switzerland. They were really fascinating, and everyone (this was a music tour) wanted to try and play them. Hehe. Quite possibly not the same, but mildly relevent. =) Three more things. One, The Salzburg Card sounds like a truly amazing thing. Two, I'm having a really hard time picturing you drinking beer. And finally, most importantly, number three - I miss you!!!
hee haw Wonderful Lar.... I especially like to see Nate falling off the cliff. Whenever someone other than a Holmquist is the one tripping, falling, making an iriot out of themselves... you must capitalize on it. Salzburg sounds awesome -- and way to go college students counting the dollars on the free card. I won't tell you that that is very Holmquist-esque of you to add each cent saved, and potentially spend more than you normally would have just on purpose to get your money's worth out of it. But, ahem, ah yeah, you know.
Um, dang!! Nila ~ that sounds perfectly wonderful and amazing. I agree that I wish I had better words, but it sounds lovely, and you look lovely and so happy! Have a Blast dear friend and know that you are missed, but I am SOOOOO excited for you and that you are having an AMAZING time!! Tell Nate hello for me!
"zaz" You went to Neufschwanstein! Jimmy and I got to go there with his parents, as I'm sure he told you...the memory that sticks out the most is a small bavarian waitress calmly but assertively correcting Mr. Barnes' pronunciation of the castle :) "stein"..."shtein"..."stein"..."SHTEIN"! Ohhh, good times. I love reading your journals! Thanks!
Thanks for the post-card and I was very jealous the Hofbrauhaus looked great :-). I'm sorry it's been so hot, I can't imagine dealing with that I've done very little outside because of the heat here. Little known fact I actually really love classical music so the Mozart concert sounds very appealing to me I hope you enjoyed it. We all miss you at Sheridans! Well the ones who matter do anyway :-), have fun!
Heat wave I don't know how you're doing it without fans, let alone air conditioning. We'll keep our fingers crossed for cooler air for you!
It's so fun to explore through your journals and pictures! Keep them coming! Love you! (No news on Wain - still in the hospital.)
Nancy
I'm loving all the emphasis on food in your posts! Delicious! I'm glad your professors are interesting, and that you have so much free time. Hopefully, the weather gets better because I'm sure that is just MISERABLE. Not at all conducive to sight-seeing! Anywho, I think this bubble tea restaurant thing is closing soon, so I'm off. I CANNOT wait to see you in August!!
following in my footsteps Wasn't Dachua amazing? Again, I can't wait to talk to you about your travels and hear how everything's going in London. I'm glad to see you found some good German beer. Nuts. That's all I have to say about that place after dark. Great reading your posts. Keep an eye on Nate for all of us back here. You know how he can be...
whisked away It's great reading your journals. I know exactly what you're talking about with all the Italian experiences. Isn't it fun? Well, maybe not when you're there, but you know what I mean. I'm definatly going to have to get some more detail on the Rome trip (as you might already know) but it's great to hear everything went so well and you're getting to see what you've wanted! Stay safe - I'm so proud of my little sis.
Awesome pictures Nila - these pictures are the best. I'm so glad your camera dried out!
I know you're having the time of your life - memories you'll never forget! Here's hoping your studies at Oxford go well. Wain's new room doesn't have internet, so he'll have to wait to see the rest of these when he gets home (? no idea when that will be).
Love, Nancy
Swim Free! I am so jealous. You are doing way cool traveling type things and it looks awesome. The pictures are absolutely amazing. You are going to have to do some crazy things and tell me about them when we get back to school. We can even have it like a briefing. I expect you to prepare a board with charts and graphs and stuff too.
Hope that things continue to go well. I know I will be checking back.
haha Nila, the funny thing about your transposed letters is you may actually sound a little German. haha. you are German, you know. The castle looks gorgeous... you ought to have some frameables out of that one! Dachau will not be as entertaining. Love you!
only 4?? Thanks for the pictures!! But....only 4??? Isn't your Dad taking scads of pictures?? What's the deal?? I haven't talked to you guys in 4 days and all I get is 4 pictures?? Sheesh! Okay, just had to rib ya. The pics look great and I'm so glad you're seeing it all!! Meanwhile, I've started planning our January trip-- ha ha!! Have fun-- stay safe-- we're missing you!! love mom/ joni
Wow dude, nila, it looks like its been an awesome trip so far!! and you got to see nate again, yay!! i'm anxious to hear how you'll like Muenchen (sorry, reverted to my german there, lol) for obvious reasons, but rome and venice looked amazing. and all the history at the vatican! wow, even for someone like me (aka without the catholic background) it would be truly awesome to visit. i hope your camera heals over the next few days!! love ya... take care of yourself.... :-)
Wow, Nila! Your pics are awesome! It's great to hear that you made it over there A-OK and are enjoying yourself. I would agree - the driving is nothing short of insane. Yikes! Keeping soaking up the history, and maybe not so much of the sun!! =)
