Haha, thanks! In fact the crab got itself stuck in a crack in a rock (usually you can't get within 5m of the buggers). Think the camera was about 5mm from its face - the poor thing was terrified i guess!
Fantastic Well done, only stumbled across your blog on 05/09/08
Great reading
I bought a ridgeback nemesis for commuting to work (06/06/08) after not being on a bike for nearly twenty years and now have the bug
You have giving me inspiration to tackle an adventure, I am thinking lands end to john o'groats.
I am going to buy a tourer now (the wife will love that!)
Thanks for sharing your experiences, you having giving me a nudge in the right direction.
Cheers
Great blog Hi there,I followed your trip after coming across it by chance..a great website idea, seems it was easy to upload the photos where ever you are too ,which makes all the difference. Thanks for making the effort, pretty inspiring.Definately like to visit Scandinavia now...don't know if I could handle all that solo cycling though as I guess it can get pretty lonesome out there on the road! Let us know when your next trip is,as I'm sure a few months back here will inspire another trip abroad pretty soon. Anyways, thanks again..given me lots of ideas to get out abroad more..cheers,Aleks
Thanks for a great and inspiring travel blog. I only bumped into the blog, as I'd also bought myself a Ridgeback Panorama. But definitely the stories and photos are such encouragement for me to get some miles in, and then get out there for my own adventures.
Thanks.
biking the netherlands I am planning on studing in the Netherlands this fall and want to do a bike tour of some of the contry during mid october. Do you think the weather will be too harsh then? Also, what did you bring with you during your trip?
I recently bought a bike like yours, and... ... I've been following your adventure from the start. One word (for now): AMAZING (you, not the bike, although the bike seems to have done ok).
I'm from Scotland, currently living in the lovely city of Edinburgh.
My blogging started in South America (5 months) with a bit of Alaska (1 month), then a 2.5 month cycle trip around the North Sea and up to Narvik in Norway.
Since then, Kilimanjaro, Everest 3 passes, and a few other smaller trips in Scotland. Most recently i've returned to Peru for one more hike (the one that almost killed me).... full info
