Loved Niall on de Niall..luv to you both..N
Unbelievable Uganda Dear Dee and Nile - the Uganda leg of your trip sounds amazing and fun and I'm glad to see Niall / Nile hasn't lost his sense of humour along the way. What an adventure! I'm glad to hear the voucher might come in handy very soon. That's exactly what we were hoping for! Can't wait to hear all about Rwanda and can't wait to see all your passport stamps (very American of me, can't help it) and photos. Miss you both!
one foot in each hemisphere Loved your blog on Uganda. Doesn't sound like the land of Idi Amin. Loved your picture of one of you in each hemisphere -north/south. We have a similar picture taken in the Andes Mountains of Ecuador.
Uganda I was just telling someone yesterady, it is amazing when you cross into that Uganda border, it is so lush in comparison, to the East coast of Kenya. Jinja is also great fun. I really enjoyed Kampala, is one of the only African cities I enjoyed.
A Blog Escape What a great update and for me, a great 10 - 15 minute getaway from a stressful morning at work in London. Dee, I'm so proud of you for the camping, cycling and national park adventure. Didn't know you had it in you! Pics are great and I wish you both a safe journey to Uganda.
Love,
Heidi
Good Stuff "I would like to hear about the pitfalls in microfinance that you alluded to in your blog".......me too
Travel to 3rd world countries certainly gives you a different view of the world...
and you want to help everyone...give a man a fish and he can eat one meal..give a man a rod and he can eat
forever....funny how its the woman that handle the money ...same in Asia...
Awe Inspiring Wow Naill and Dee, that's amazing what you've been doing, what an experience for you both, reading it somehow makes normal travel seem quite shallow. Hope you both have a lovely Christmas and a well earned break at home, I bet you're going to find it strange to be back to all the confortable trapping of our Western lifestyle. Much love to you both, M xxxx
Welcome News I was so glad to receive your report on Kenya, as I was concerned about your long silence. What experiences you are having! My youngest daughter Cornelia traveled in Europe for a year when she was about twenty, and once sent us a postcard that said, "What these eyes have seen." Now I am thinking "what your eyes have seen so far" and have yet to see in your further travels in Africa and Asia. If you have time, I would like to hear about the pitfalls in microfinance that you alluded to in your blog. Be well, take care of yourselves, and all best Holiday Wishes to both of you.
Chill time Wow you are still going strong...glad to hear you got some chill time
You will be glad to hear that £4 per room will get you a good place in SEA
Fast track catch up! Hi u 2 - just read all the blogs so far - what a fantastic time - have just come back from choir practice in Lismore and they are salting the roads!!! it's not 'wish you were here' its wish we were there!! ta for sharing all your travels with us all. best wishes to you both from us both.
Ggggggrrrrrrrrreat! Hiya Guys, as usual a great blog from you both was just doing abit of catching up with it to be honest! I am amazed at how much you have done! Are you getting abit tired? Hope you have met some nice people on your travels. Dee I don't know how you are coping with all the attention! It would seriously get on my nerves I think! I would love to go to Jordan, one of my friends says it is her fave country and one day I will get to Petra too! Just doing abit of printing for my course think the ink cataridge is going to run dry in a mo, so much reading! Well the weather has been absolutely terrible here so much rain it is really depressing and gives you the sniffles! The whole country is tired up the annual x-facor debate (ie, who will won?) there are twins on it called John and Edward and Louie is their mentor and they are from Ireland. Anyway they can't sing but always do crazy dances and they are the subversive vote at the mom but they might win! Well we have had Halloween and Bonfire Night tonight (I am not bothering) and so of course all the Christmas lights are up and everything is in the shops. Every year in Manchester they have a christmas market. you know the thing loads of tat for sale and sausages and mulled wine, it gets bigger and bigger each year, I use to love it but now I think hmmm is 4 quid for a small glass of vino-destructo really a bargin!? lol!!!! Well best be getting on might have a trip to B and Q in abit - see life is pretty boring when you aren't travelling! Be safe and be in touch soon love K XXXXX

Greetings! Thanks so much for keeping us up-to-speed (and thereby rather envious!) with the fantastic blog entries. I must say you look rather too glam to be living out of a rucksack ! Keep safe and have a fab time on all your upcoming adventures.
Sounds amazing I have always wanted to go to Lebanon and Jordan. Extremely jealous. Hope you have a great time in Egypt, I remember the pyramids being amazing. Hope you get a chance to at least try some diving.
Have a great trip.
Having both finished our jobs at the London Stock Exchange and JP Morgan in July, we plan to spend some time back in Ireland bothering our familes in August. Then in September our adventure starts in the Middle East on a trip from Istanbul to Cairo, then on to Nairobi for voluntary work with the Jamii Bora Microfinance Institute (http://www.jamiibora.org). From there we hope to travel to South Africa via Victoria Falls. Then a flight to India for a few months before travelling through China and some of South East Asia before a flight home. Phew - all of that in 12 months....
So to keep ... full info
