Thanks 4 the comments about Bogotá..do not forget to visit little towns around..museums and cafés are always a good option.
The pics you take are just fantastic, not only landscapes but people..that makes the difference..people!!
Take care and hope to see you soon around this large city.
Colombia is not drug The people who thinks that Colombia is only drugs is very BADD please not be gross, Colombia is a nice country and the mayor habitants hate the drug and the guerrilas that kill farmers. don't be stupid know colombia and later talk!
greetings! Hey Nels! I am so excited to hear from you and that you are having a good time during your travels! Sounds like Colombia had its ups and downs but overall was an educational trip. Have fun in peru with Lauren! Safe travels and can't wait to hear from you next time!
Unas cosas Just a few comments, do you relaise that the CIA assinated Giatan, a very short sighted solution to a left wing controled Colombia, causing a very term tragady for this beautiful contry.

Nice try Have a great time. Your first entry was well done. You are obviously still inferior to Fasy (remember who financed his trip) but nice blog all the same. I really look forward to seeing you in a few months on my turf. There is a basketball court at the beach. We are going to have the ultimate Italian 2 on 2 tourney. Losers are drowned in the Adriatic.
kakkoii!!! Nels--You really tell it like it is! This is the best travel blog I've read so far (although, I haven't seen Dan's). The honesty is refreshing. There is a picture of you from our climbing trip in Utah on a slideshow that I show my students. They all get super excited about your picture, screaming out 'kakkoii' (cool) in class. Thanks to you, my students think I'm cool too. ;) This blog will only add to that image. Your trips are truly inspirational. I can't wait for the next entry. Happy trails!
now you have a comment You better start traveling now if you want to catch Marco Polo. I like the site- good job on the map and the shoes purchase. sounds like you're ready to go..;)
After one year and 16 countries, I am back home. We are living in my hometown of Spokane, Washington. It is great to be back. In a desperate attempt to keep the adventure alive, we have decided to train for an ironman triathlon. After so many bus rides and hotels, we were both feeling pretty unhealthy towards the end of the trip. My hope was that the training would make me feel vibrant and athletic. I will be working there as a p.e teacher for a public charter school and Lauren is goi... full info
