My last stop on my Easter break was Galway. Galway was a great city and was super busy that last weekend of everyone's holiday. The city's medieval streets are easy to get lost in, but offer a different view of the city. The bars and pubs seem endless in Galway and the nightly entertainment was great. While I was in Galway, I visited the new Cathedral, only 50 years old, and St. Nicholas Cathedral. The new cathedral, looks much older and it is hard to believe that in recent times, people would build such an enormous cathedral, especially in the old stone style. St. Nicholas is a large very old, from the 14th century, church that serves the Church of Ireland. My second day in Galway, I actually left the city and took the ferry to ... read more

The Wicklow Mountains are considered the garden of Ireland and for good reason. When people think of Ireland, everyone thinks of going to the west coast and seeing the Cliffs of Moher and Ring of Kerry, but I would say that missing out on the Wicklow Mountains and Glendalough is a big mistake. The mountains are one of the most beautiful places in Ireland. I would rank it my number 2 favorite behind the most impressive Dingle Peninsula. That's right, I think it is better than the famous Ring of Kerry. My tour through the Wicklow Mountains and onto Glendalough was great and made even better by the fabulous tour guide. On the tour, I saw the tallest waterfall in Ireland. We also saw were scenes for P.S. I love You were shot and Braveheart. Yes, ... read more

After leaving Mom back in Edinburgh, I continued my travels in the UK by flying to Belfast. Belfast served as my base for travel around the northern coast and the Giant’s Causeway. My first night after arriving in Belfast I went to a small diner by the hostel and I had an Oreo shake, which was so good. On Easter Sunday I took a tour around the Giant’s Causeway and the northern coast of Ireland. Apparently the northern coast is very beautiful, but unfortunately for me, the weather was not very cooperative and a low hanging cloud prevented me from really seeing any of the coastline. Since we could not see the beauty, we just had to take the guides word for it. We did make a quick stop to see Dunluce Castle and Carrick-a-Fergus, both ... read more

After our four days in London, Mom and I made our way by train to Edinburgh. After riding the train for four hours, it was nice to get up and walk a bit. Little did Mom and I realize what laid in store for us. Packing all of our luggage, we had to climb steep stairs and walk long hills to get to where we were staying. We finally arrived to our apartment, exhausted and realizing how out of shape we were. After dropping everything off, we headed out for a walk around the medieval old city. The architecture in the city is amazing and makes you feel like you are walking back in time. We made our way to the castle and looked around the outside before making our way down the Royal Mile and ... read more

The first part of my first week of spring break started off in London. I started by meeting up with mom in the airport. It was so nice to finally see someone from home and seeing mom and getting to spend the next week with her was fabulous. We started off from the airport on the tube and made our way to our apartment we would be staying in for the next few days. While on the tube from the airport, mom and I were completely insulted by a man for being American. Out of all the places I have been, this was a first. We got back on the tube and made our way to Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. We walked around Westminster Abbey before walking to Trafalgar Square and looking in ... read more
