World Travelers Hi Renato!
I was surprised to see that you are still on your trip. Did you extend it or has it always been this many days. That´s great! It sounds like you are visiting a lot of places.
I didn´t have access to internet every day so I couldn´t write entries every day. This is my second day in Alejandra´s school and it´s very interesting. There´s a lot of similarities and many differences mostly based on the law and their availability of resources. However, the kids are the same all over the world. The first day they were looking at me as if I were from another planet. Today they came up and asked questions and figured out that I was nice and easy to talk to.
I´m taking a lot of photos because they can tell the story better than I can.
Enjoy the last days of your trip and we´ll compare notes soon.
Take care,
Silvia
Mendocinas Hola Gladys y Deborah,
Silvia
Hi Ms. Pule,
It sounds like your trip in Argentina so far has been really great! I'm heading into the end of my trip, and I feel like I have a lot more questions not only about the school systems I have seen, and how they compare to our own.
Are you at an elementary school? I was wondering if it would be possible to connect with a teacher or group of teachers that could be pen-pals for my students this year. I would really like for my students to have a more global perspective.
Finally has there been any sort of celebration for the soccer team? I actually went to one of the FIFA U-20 games while I was in Ottawa. In fact it was Argentina vs. Panama...Argentina won of course.
Hope your doing well! I'm excited to hear about your experience when you return.
Take care,
Renato
I'm the Principal of San Juan Elementary School in San Juan Capistrano, California. This will be a journal of my Fulbright Administrator's Exchange in Cordoba, Argentina. My counterpart in Argentina spent 3 weeks shadowing me at work last November. Now it's my turn to visit her school in Argentina and learn about the educational system, policies and procedures, and hopefully establish a permanent exchange between the two schools.
